Re: Kojak: the Complete Movie Collection

Just saw this (because we don't get notified anymore about these posts).

I don't think these are cropped; the framing looks absolutely correct, so I'd say they were shot in the widescreen ratio...

Re: DVD Talk Review of NIGHT WATCH

I can put multiple spoiler warnings throughout the review, Brian, if that would help. That's a good idea.

That sounds like a roundabout way of saying you'd like to see less M.O.D....

Re: DVD Talk review of 'The Ghost and Mr. Chicken'

I don't remember that particular shot...but I never saw the movie in the theater--just on TV. It's possible...but you could also be thinking of about a 100 other movies that have used that shot,...

Re: DVD Talk review of 'A Long Ride From Hell'

Not sure what review you read.

Bill recommended the movie, and praised Reeves' screen presence several times. I didn't get that he was "smugly" insulting to Reeves' personally...but even if he...

Re: DVD Talk review of 'The Possessed (1977)'

Well...there is a scene where one of the girls tries to get someone out of a dorm room, where the evil spirit has locked the door...

Not sure if that helps, Don. Isn't that awful when you're...

Re: DVD Talk review of 'Alien Thunder (Dan Candy's Law)'

Well, Barry, just remember: there are no dull and boring movies...
just a few slow and deliberate viewers.

Ahem.

Re: DVD Talk review of 'Arabesque'

I, too, completely disagree with Jamie's goofy take on one of my favorite spy spoofs (with the funny, completely edible Sophia Loren), Arabesque; I wrote a rave for it in my review of The Gregory...

Re: DVD Talk review of 'Mister Ed: The Complete Fifth Season'

That's right: 3 shots of Connie Hines....

....and 12 of Mister Ed.

Draw your own conclusions.

Re: DVD Talk review of 'Mister Ed: The Complete Fifth Season'

I really enjoy picking and choosing screen grabs for my reviews, but it's tougher for a series like Mister Ed because there are so many choices. It's a funny series just from a visual standpoint,...

Re: DVD Talk review of 'The Yellow Rose: The Complete Series'

You can just feel it's something like that; clearly they didn't plan on having her character leave. Her subplot was really pretty crucial to the central triangle with Shepherd and Elliott. ...

Re: DVD Talk review of 'A Rage To Live'

Well, Barry, as I said in my review, I admire his work. But I disagree that the movies made from his books are mediocre -- they're just different in focus and execution. Pleasures can still be had...

Re: DVD Talk review of 'Get Yourself a College Girl'

Chad had Mary Ann Mobley; that's Fabrizio Mioni with Chris. He's actually pretty good in the film.

Hey, I'm glad you liked it! Thanks!

Re: DVD Talk review of 'The FBI: The First Season, Part One'

They may not.

As I wrote in that review and a bunch more, I don't like the split seasons, either...but at least these are uncut and relatively good transfers.

And at least the series is out...

Re: DVD Talk review of 'Father Knows Best: Season Six'

Hey, thanks for the kind words! I'm just sorry there's no more to review. It's such a lovely show.

Isn't that amazing? Three years of prime-time reruns on CBS and ABC, and then five more years...

I did write a book, but not on television....The Espionage Filmography....
