Re: 4 hours in Pittsburgh...what to do?

I'd check out Mt Washington. The Duquesne Incline offers some spectacular views of the city and the 3 Rivers. To me, that's something unique to Pittsburgh and worthy of your time.

I'd echo the...

re: Three girls kidnapped for 10 years found alive [Merged] [Update - Castro bites it]

DNA test results came in overnight and confirmed that Ariel Castro fathered Amanda Berry's 6 year old daughter. His DNA wasn't linked to any other Ohio crimes, but I read one report that indicated he...

re: Three girls kidnapped for 10 years found alive [Merged] [Update - Castro bites it]

Amanda Berry reportedly gave birth in an inflatable pool. She appears to have identified Ariel Castro as her 6 year old daughter's father (as opposed to one of his brothers), but police have not yet...

re: Three girls kidnapped for 10 years found alive [Merged] [Update - Castro bites it]

No problem. Just wanted to clear up the misconception that the house looked like an obvious sex dungeon! The local news has reported that nearby homes are abandoned and included in the forensic...

re: Three girls kidnapped for 10 years found alive [Merged] [Update - Castro bites it]

McDonalds has commented on Twitter and promised to be in touch with Charles Ramsey!

Ramsey is a dishwasher at a local restaurant downtown. The chef and owner of that restaurant was on the second...

re: Three girls kidnapped for 10 years found alive [Merged] [Update - Castro bites it]

That image is not of the house where the 3 women were found, although it may be one of the abandoned homes nearby. The address where Ariel Castro kept the women captive is 2207 Seymour Ave Cleveland....

Re: Parenthood -- Season/Series? Finale -- "Because You're My Sister" -- 1/22/13

Excellent news! This show remains one of my favorites, despite the heavy emotion. I usually prefer more lighthearted tv viewing, but these characters are all so well written that they feel more like...

Re: The Official "Great Beer" thread. Part 2; Same great taste but this time more hop

If your favorite local pub doesn't offer a Randall or other infusions, try using a French press for coffee and experiment on your own. We have a dedicated beer press, and it's fun to try infusing...

Re: Heart Attack Grill

I don't think those options existed 2 years ago when I first commented. Those restaurants have received wide publicity for their high calorie meals. I'd guess they've added those options to balance...

Re: Have you been to the Xcritic forum lately? (formerly Adult Talk)

I'd love to see their traffic pattern for the last month or two. There must have been a noticeable spike because of this thread!

Re: Meet The Cheap Pastor That Got A Hard Working Waitress Fired

I've had more than one waitress explain the tip as an "automatic gratuity." It's also my understanding that you're free to adjust the amount up or down. I've never seen it referred to as a...

Re: The Official "Great Beer" thread. Part 2; Same great taste but this time more hop

It seems we were in the same place at the same time, without knowing it!

The Nutted Brick Kiln was ridiculously good. I hope Brad opts to bottle that, along with the Mandala Citra and Galaxy. What...

Re: The Official "Great Beer" thread. Part 2; Same great taste but this time more hop

Damn! I had the regular Gingerbread stout and thought that was phenomenal. I expected it to be nearly impossible to find the BA version. Did you guys trade for those?

I spent the weekend at Jackie...

Re: CBS scrapping tonights shows. 10/29/2012

I hope Tivo somehow catches it when tonight's scheduled episodes actually air. I don't record repeats and my Tivo now thinks I have already seen these shows.

Re: The Official "Great Beer" thread. Part 2; Same great taste but this time more hop

Please let me know what you think of the Mint Stout. I'm very interested in trying it, but reviews from friends have been mixed. Some say it's subtle and others say it's very minty. Either way, it...

Re: The Official "Great Beer" thread. Part 2; Same great taste but this time more hop

I parked myself at Willoughby all night Tuesday and had several pints. It was like the brewer made that beer exactly for my tastes. Just phenomenal. The Habanero Cosmic IPA cask was also stellar....

Re: The Official "Great Beer" thread. Part 2; Same great taste but this time more hop

Actually, it looks like my plans have changed. I'm an East-Sider and Columbus Brewing tweeted about an event in Willoughby that I didn't previously know about. Among other things, they'll be tapping...

Re: The Official "Great Beer" thread. Part 2; Same great taste but this time more hop

It's fun a fun first weekend, that's for sure!

I'm not sure if Breakfast Stout is better than last year, as it's always so damn tasty. I had a draft at Fat Heads yesterday at 10am with their beer...

Re: Is anybody else having pink fatigue?

This is so common that there's actually a term for it- "PinkWashing."

Also, the pink ribbon only further cements the idea that breast cancer is a woman's disease. While it's certainly more common...
