Re: COVID-19 POLITICAL Thread

Congrats on escaping the black hole! I've been here my whole life and yeah, what a waste

Re: Don't Breathe 2 (2021, D: Sayagues) S: Stephen Lang

The TV ads for this one make it look terrible. IMO of course.

Re: COVID-19 POLITICAL Thread

Every state has idiots. Then they band together and move to Florida. On the bright side, my house value has doubled since I bought it.

Re: I am not impressed by T-Mobile's 5G network

Seems like A 5G system is worthless if it's running on the same backbone.

Re: Kate (2021) S: Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Woody Harrelson - Netflix

I feel like I just saw a movie with this plotline in the last few weeks but can't remember the name of it

Re: COVID-19 POLITICAL Thread

It's the dumbest attempt at divide and conquer I've ever seen.

Re: Blonde (2022, D: Andrew Dominik) S: Ana de Armas -- Marilyn Monroe biopic

Netflix has been, in general, extremely hands off with their titles. This may change that.

Re: Disney's Jungle Cruise (2021, D: Collet-Serra) S: Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt

I didn't mind the plot moving that direction, but I also hate the CG overkill that every finale thinks it needs to have these days. It isn't a satisfying way to end a movie unless Neo-Tokyo explodes...

Re: COVID-19 POLITICAL Thread

I also don't agree with it. I think it's messy, impossible to enforce and causes more people to push back.

Of course, many of those same people push back when a private business tries to enforce...

Re: COVID-19 NON-POLITICAL Thread

I think they avoid delving into too much detail for a couple reasons, Ptown in the summer is a pretty big gay attraction and HIV is still more prominent in that demographic - they tend to not...

Re: COVID-19 NON-POLITICAL Thread

There has been a steady increase in breakthrough cases, it isn't rare at all at this point (and they've steadily backed away from saying as much) - the Delta variant can apparently overwhelm it...

Re: Ted Lasso (Apple TV +) -- S: Jason Sudeikis -- From the creator of Scrubs

I think to understand the motive you'd also have to understand just how much soccer means to the Brits

Re: Brooklyn Nine-Nine (NBC) - The Eighth and Final Season - premieres 8/12/21

Nothing in the trailer suggests that.

Though I suppose "woke" has come to replace "hipster" in the last few years. "Everything I don't like is woke", woo buzzwords.

Re: The White Lotus (HBO) -- S: Britton, Daddario, Zahn -- Limited series created by Mike White -- 7/11/2

Just watched the first episode. They really give you nothing to cling onto outside of that opening death remark.

It's like Couples Retreat with less likeable cast.

Re: Disney's Jungle Cruise (2021, D: Collet-Serra) S: Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt

They seem to be muddling box office losses with Disney+ as a compensatory factor. On the brightside, this will likely have the smallest drop of the major pandemic movies due to a relatively slow...

Re: The Suicide Squad (2021, W/D: James Gunn) -- News, rumors, etc.

I look at it like a reboot, carrying over only the bits that worked.

It's a movie version of Roguelike videogame.

Re: RATCHET & CLANK: Rift Apart - PS5 - 6/11/21

I played through and really enjoyed this game, something about the pacing and dimensional jumps just worked really well for me, as did the newer character roster.

Just started the 2016 Ratchet and...

Re: Black Widow (2021, D: Shortland) -- S: Johansson, Pugh -- The Spoiler Review Thread

Iger was (and is) Chairman of the Board so I'd assume he played a role in it, but the comments I've heard have been since Chapek assumed the CEO position.
