Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 14th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

I'm probably ending at 108 with The Oblong Box, a nifty Vincent Price/Christopher Lee/EA Poe joint from 1969. Life certainly slowed me down this last weekend, but that's okay. Thanks to...

Thanks everyone, and thanks Hamilton Books. That was a nice surprise. And one can never have too many copies of Frankenhooker.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 14th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

I got one movie in before the news hit here in Pittsburgh. Good thing I'm almost to 100 because it will be tough to rack up a lot of (additional) horror today.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 14th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

Yes, I think that's the case. As I recall, it used to be the exception to the full-length rule, and grew into the wildcard idea in the early years of the challenge. Chad will clarify, as always.

Just a note that everyone's favorite wildcard (okay okay, my favorite wildcard...) It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown airs Friday at 8 p.m. eastern, on ABC.

Re: "Peeping Tom" Reviews/Discussion - 2018 Horror Challenge

"The morbid urge to gaze."

I was surprised Peeping Tom hadn't been used before as a choice and was happy to watch it again.

Much like Rear Window it interrogates the idea of watching, for the...

Re: "Hereditary" Reviews/Discussion - 2018 Horror Challenge

Agreed and agreed. This was my second time watching this one. It set up some great stakes in the first half and somehow couldn't follow them through.

Toni Collette is great though. As is the...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 14th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

I had a Terence Fisher triple-feature tonight: The Two Faces of Dr Jekyll (1960), Phantom of the Opera (1962) and Island of Terror (1966). Great evening, full of style, bright color, and at least...

Pontypool is great. I'm concentrating on first-time views or I'd watch it again.

Today I watched Train to Busan - can't believe I haven't seen this one before. I thought it was great.

Re: "Dressed to Kill" Reviews/Discussion - 2018 Horror Challenge

It's been a while since I'd seen this one. Nice to revisit it.

Random thoughts:
Kind of forget how creepy Michael Caine can be. He gets so downright respectable in later films.
The...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 14th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

I just noticed that Frankenhooker is on the subset list for Studies in Terror on 10/2. Perhaps we should all watch in tribute to Hamilton Books and their generosity in the Challenge.

And all this...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 14th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

Agreed. Also Iironically) it's often hard to go through and read some people's lists because the text gets lost in the midst of all the images. Less/Smaller is definitely better.

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 14: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checkl

Hooray! I'll get my subset thoughts together later today. The list of what's never been used has lots of good suggestions.

Any idea when the list thread will be up?

Re: Ninth Annual Drive-In/Exploitation/B-Movie Challenge April 1-30, 2018

Thanks all - It was great to do the Challenge again after a few years off. I didn't meet my paltry goal of 50, and I didn't participate in the thread...but on the other hand, I did watch Bat Pussy.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 13th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

Thanks to everyone for another great Horror Challenge. Winning a prize is icing on the cake (but who doesn't love icing?). Chad, you're the best.
