Re: The Flash

Generally speaking I'm not a DC guy, but I love the 1987 Wally West Flash series. Mark Waid and Geoff Johns are the two most notable writers on that series. A lot of the artwork is very 90's, but...

Re: Rob Liefeld - Worst comic book artist ever?

I mean look at the thread you're posting this in. This sub forum is mostly dead. There's no real discussion of actual comic books, yet this thread marches on and on. I get that it's a self...

I'm going to copy and paste this everytime you post in the "last blu-ray you bought" thread.

Re: UHD release announcements

Of course there are other boutiques that do just as a good a job as Criterion, but until Arrow or Kino or Vinegar Syndrome or whomever start releasing the Janus catalog or any of the other...

Re: Itís the beginning of the end of COVID-19!!! Vaccines are here and Iím getting mine in a few days.

Whoa there hoss I think you're reading something into my comments that were decidedly not there. My wife is a doctor. I have young kids. I live in Connecticut where the restrictions are as strict as...

Re: UHD release announcements

I get all the concerns. They all flew right out the window the moment every mom and pop boutique in the land started doing their own uhds. But whatever. We've been over all of this before.

Re: Itís the beginning of the end of COVID-19!!! Vaccines are here and Iím getting mine in a few days.

I wasn't really referring to your comments. I get that workplaces may have their own rules. There were some other comments which seemed to misrepresent what the cdc guidelines are.

Re: Itís the beginning of the end of COVID-19!!! Vaccines are here and Iím getting mine in a few days.

I'm confused. This is straight from the cdc website. Am I supposed to interpret this in any way that doesn't mean no masks if everyone is vaccinated?

Re: The Official 88 Films Blu-ray Thread (UK Label)

Watched Snake In The Eagle's Shadow last night. Overall it's a nice package, which shouldn't be a surprise given the work 88 has been doing. The cat/snake fight was handled fairly elegantly. It's...

Re: The One and Only Kino Lorber and Olive Films Blu-Ray Thread

GBU gets a hearty recommendation from me as well. The color timing is a little contrasty. I don't know if that's a result of using an IB Tech print for color reference, or if it was just the best...

Re: Future Marvel Cinematic Universe projects discussion thread - News, rumors, etc.

D'oh! Should have known that.

Kind of weird to throw a logo out there when there's literally nothing else to go with it. I mean, we all know FF is coming at some point. It's not like I'm more...

Re: Future Marvel Cinematic Universe projects discussion thread - News, rumors, etc.

The self importance of that trailer was more than a little nauseating.

So was that an Avengers 4 logo (assuming they consider infinity war/endgame avengers 3) or a phase 4 logo at the end?

Re: 2021 Minivan discussion - For those who have given up on being cool

The 10 speed transmission is standard in all 2020 models. Prior to that it was only in the Touring and the Elite.

Re: Criterion releases on Blu-Rays, Part II

B/W? That's Parasite. Isn't this about Memories of Murder?

And it's not really a trend in Asian cinema. It's more like a trend with any of these digital restorations from the original negative....

Re: 14 Oscar-winning movies that haven't stood the test of time

How Green Was My Valley is a great movie that just happens to have the unfortunate distinction as the movie that "robbed" Citizen Kane.

Re: The Official 88 Films Blu-ray Thread (UK Label)

These Amazon leaks are really taking the wind out of their sails. I wonder where Armour of God is though? Figured we see that one sooner rather than later.

More Chang Cheh is always welcomed....

Re: The Official 88 Films Blu-ray Thread (UK Label)

It's not surprising as the Cat III stuff is for sure more in line with the rest of their catalog. However, as someone who doesn't really care for the rest of their catalog, I can't say I'm all that...

Re: The Official 88 Films Blu-ray Thread (UK Label)

Looks like the next few Hong Kong releases are:

The Story of Ricky
Robotrix
The Chinese Boxer

I think the days of me buying all of these has come to a hard stop. Story of Ricky is what it is....

Re: Freaks & Geeks: Collector's Edition

Presumably the show was shot on 3 perf 35mm, which has a native widescreen aspect ratio. That doesn't mean they shot it with the intention of widescreen, but they are able to open up the left and...
