re: "Making a Murderer" -- Netflix documentary series

This dude can rot for all I care, having tossed a LIVE CAT into a BONFIRE. What a heinous bag. If he didn't commit the crime(s) in question, surely his character and that act alone warrants seclusion...

Re: Master of None - Aziz Ansari Netflix Comedy - Series Thread

I have yet to see a show do such an incredible 180. The first episode I thought was TERRIBLE. The second episode had me hooked in 30 seconds (as soon as I figured out the first gag). I imagine if you...

Re: Why do people think older movies have so much better CGI effects than newer movie

I think the issue for me is that modern CGI is hyper-realistic. You can see every pore, wrinkle, muscle twitch, etc. When placed next to a human actor, whose blemishes are covered up by makeup and...

Re: why didn't George Lucas bother to fix the black slug on the side of Palpatine's f

Slugs? Fix the bloody white lightsabers in A New Hope! If a dozen odd fan edits can do it, it makes sense that the might of ILM could make a white blob look blue.

Re: Cosmos (new show from Seth MacFarlane) Premieres 3/9/14 on FOX

Ah, this is a little out of my field and probably better suited for a psychologist or neurobiologist. I study how the shared or unshared evolutionary history leads to patterns of species coexistence,...

Re: Cosmos (new show from Seth MacFarlane) Premieres 3/9/14 on FOX

I am an evolutionary ecologist and I can say that the second episode has been the best treatment of evolution that I have seen, hands down.

re: Veep -- Season 2 Thread -- Sundays (HBO) -- premieres 4/14/13

This show is really hitting its stride.

I can never forgot the line from last season: "Like my pawpaw said, its always darkest before the storm.." Gets me every time

Re: Person of Interest -- "Dead Reckoning" -- 1/31/13

I disagree. This is a show that is firing on all cylinders. Enjoy the ride, it is as spectacular a run as broadcast TV has ever seen!

Re: 30 Rock -- 1 Hour Series Finale -- "Hogcock!/Last Lunch" -- 1/31/13

I prefer to think of the 100th episode as the perfect series finale, and forget the last two seasons. That said, I'm glad they inserted Jack's return to form at the last minute.

Re: Fringe -- "XB-6783746" -- 12/21/12

Here is an excellent timeline that puts everything together. Good reading to brush up for the finale!

Re: Fringe -- "Black Blotter" -- 12/14/12

Not as good as 3.19 but ultimately enjoyable. The end scene with the projections of "Peter" playing over the walls and Walter was genius.

Also, up 0.2 points...

Re: Survivor: Philippines -- "Million Dollar Question" -- 12/16/2012 **Finale, Sunday

Re: Survivor: Philippines -- "Shot into Smithereens" -- 12/05/2012

I'm fairly certain that any number of jurors, even or odd, with a final 3 can end in the case of a tie. (9 jurors: 4-4-1,8 jurors: 3-3-2, etc. etc.)

Don't know why they would switch to a F2 over a...

Re: Star Trek 2 (Abrams, Stardate 3141.9) ---> News, casting, etc...

I read this fantastic theory and fell in love with it. If this isn't the plot, I'll be hugely disappointed:

There is a character who exists on the fringes of "Star Trek" canon, and that's why I...

Re: Survivor: Philippines -- "Gouge My Eyes Out" -- 12/12/2012

Who voted Malcolm? He has the HII, he can't go home!

I bet Denise goes, but boy would I love to see Abi or Lisa go. Abi is clearly the goat, but how Lisa managed to bumble through this game is...

Re: Fringe -- Season Premiere -- "Transilience Thought Unifier Model-11" -- 9/28/12

I did some digging. Agent Foster is indeed in amber so I suspect we will get the dynamic duo of Henry Ian Cusick and Leonard Nimoy sometime in the future.

Great opener, BTW. Had to go buy "Only...

Re: Fringe -- Season Premiere -- "Transilience Thought Unifier Model-11" -- 9/28/12

Ok, so it has been a while since I watched "Letters of Transit." Was he the dead body the other two Scots were drinking to, or Etta's "superior" that was trapped in amber (mentioned by the loyalist...
