Re: TV on DVD* Challenge Season 12 Discsussion Thread

I'm so sorry to hear about your dog, shadokitty. My pets are my family and it's so hard when they get sick. I have 2 cats, both with health issues, though neither quite as serious as cancer. It's...

I'm pretty sure it's Travis' goal to get all the versions of the Christmas Carol on disc as well!

I only have a few versions, myself, but I do have a lot of Christmas movies. For the most part, I...

Re: It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like The 17th Annual DVDTalk Holiday Challenge (11/21 - 1/1)

I've been mainly watching out of my personal collection this year, but I did watch Five More Minutes, a Hallmark movie, tonight. I enjoyed it though it bugs me when the main character falls in love...

Re: TV on DVD* Challenge Season 12 Discsussion Thread

I have a couple thoughts of what to watch, but so far focusing on Holiday fare for right now. Facts of Life has been on my list for a while. I've been thinking about re-watching M*A*S*H. I'm sure my...

Re: It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like The 17th Annual DVDTalk Holiday Challenge (11/21 - 1/1)

The Muppet Christmas Carol is one of my favorite adaptations of Dicken's story. It's a tad on the long side, but Gonzo and Rizzo the Rat are great narrators and I really like Michael Caine's Scrooge....

Re: It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like The 17th Annual DVDTalk Holiday Challenge (11/21 - 1/1)

When I see your user name, I always smile because it makes me think of them! I never had the opportunity to see them in concert much less meet them. Hopefully they didn't disappoint!

I'm almost...

Re: It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like The 17th Annual DVDTalk Holiday Challenge (11/21 - 1/1)

I saw this earlier. Davy Jones was my favorite Monkee but I enjoyed them all. I can't believe that the band is down to one living member. :( I have the series, I'll have to watch this episode. I...

Re: It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like The 17th Annual DVDTalk Holiday Challenge (11/21 - 1/1)

I've been watching old TV shows xmas/holiday episodes. I've watched 2 Jack Benny ones. The first one was alright (Jack Benny being cheap in a department store buying Christmas presents), the second...

Re: TV on DVD* Challenge Season 12 Discsussion Thread

I'm in! I think that could give structure for when you want to watch something, but aren't sure what. I would say that out of your examples, I'd only be slightly interested in one of them. I know...

Re: It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like The 17th Annual DVDTalk Holiday Challenge (11/21 - 1/1)

shadokitty, don't forget about your local library! They'll likely have quite a few holiday movies or be able to request them. If it's like my local system, you can do most of it online and have...

Re: It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like The 17th Annual DVDTalk Holiday Challenge (11/21 - 1/1)

I'm in as well (though not for the exploitation bundle). This is really nice of you! Thank you!

I've been having fun going through two cheap holiday DVD packs the last week. There are a fair...

Re: It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like The 17th Annual DVDTalk Holiday Challenge (11/21 - 1/1)

Think it changed a couple years ago to take advantage of the Thanksgiving movies/shows.

Been watching old holiday TV shows. Kind of fun to just have a mixture of different shows to watch rather...

Re: It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like The 17th Annual DVDTalk Holiday Challenge (11/21 - 1/1)

I'm late to the game this year, but I'm looking forward to starting! I've already watched quite a few cooking shows/challenges the last couple weeks!

So far, this is the only new Hallmark...

Re: The 12th Annual Animation Challenge! Discussion Thread

I do usually take a break from films after the challenge! I usually get through some TV I DVR'd through the summer before getting into the Sept. challenge. :)

Re: The 12th Annual Animation Challenge! Discussion Thread

Did you like Dark Crystal? I kind of forgot that it existed as I didn't have access to Netflix until just recently.

Wow! Great job! This is the first year (I think) that I haven't done the...

Re: The 12th Annual Animation Challenge! Discussion Thread

Disney+ really helped me out this year! Aw, thanks! These two challenges cover my favorite genres (Holiday films are a close 3rd), so it's fun to host them. Enjoy September's challenge!

Nice!...

Re: Discussion Thread: Revamping September Challenge!

I should have saved Satellite Girl and Milk Cow! Had no idea it'd qualify for this challenge too. It's a very bizarre film, if I do say so myself. If you have the disc, I hope you watch the short...

Re: The 12th Annual Animation Challenge! Discussion Thread

Nice!

I just finished The Lion King (2019). Love the original ten times more. This was very dark and lacking the moments of levity the original brings to the intense bits. I had thought I might...
