Re: The Hole (Latest Joe Dante film) (1/17/2011) BD/DVD

It's one of the better shot (recent) native 3-D movies. I've never seen it flat, and have no desire to. I'll stick with my imported Blu-ray 3D.

Re: Classic Monster Collection from Universal - 10/2/12

Don't worry, there will be a flat 2-D version included on the disc as well, for those who don't want to watch the film as intended or lack the equipment to do so.

Re: Classic Monster Collection from Universal - 10/2/12

CREATURE (and all the other 1950s 3-D movies) were originally presented in polarized form using clear glasses. There were no anaglyph releases at the time, other than a handful of short subjects. ...

Re: Hobo With a Shotgun >> 7/5/2011

I recorded it from HD Net, but I couldn't make it through more than 20 minutes.

Re: Two and a Half Men to suspend production for the rest of season

Everyone, including CBS, should just move on. Cancel the show, stop booking Sheen for interviews. No sitcom needs to go past 8 years anyway.

Probably never, with cancellation all but certain.

Re: Does anyone have DirecTV Cinema? Do they honor OAR?

I don't know if they do OAR across the board, but I've done PPV through DirecTV several times and the 2:35 to 1 movies were OAR.

Re: Jane Russell - Dead at 89

She attended a 3-D screening of "The French Line" in Los Angeles in 2006. She looked great and was in rare form. RIP Jane.

Re: Weekend Box Office (2/25-2/27): It's hard to Drive Angry on an empty tank

GNOMEO AND JULIET is in 3-D too. The poor weekend choice, R rating and Nicholas Cage are more likely culprits. That said, the 3-D surchages are BS, they don't need to do that or at least cap it...

Re: Last Movie you saw at the Cinema

Drive Angry in 3-D. Should have been tightened up, but the photogtaphy was great. Lots of gimmicks.

Re: Jackass 3 >>> 03/08

Pass on the anaglyph. Proper 3-D PPV showings (for 3-D sets) start next week anyway.

Re: Wrath of the Titans (2012)- sequel to Clash

Sucks that they intend to convert after all instead of shooting in 3-D. "Piranha" had a stereographer on the set too, and the result wasn't great. At least we can hold out hope they will take their...

Re: Will a Region B Blu-ray player work in the US?

Why not just buy a player which is compatible with all regions? I have one that not only has PAL-NTSC conversion for DVDs, but plays Blu's from any region. You can get one for $120-$150 easily. Just...

Re: The Hole (Latest Joe Dante film) (1/17/2011) BD/DVD

A Steelbook Blu-ray version is already available in Italy; it contains flat 2-D, active shutter Blu-ray 3-D and magenta/green anaglyph 3-D versions. It is Region coded B.

Re: Pawn Stars on History Channel

For some reason I keep seeing Old Man at the supermarket. He seems to like to play video poker machines in the lobby (it is Las Vegas after all).

Re: Wrath of the Titans (2012)- sequel to Clash

It was announced months ago this was not going to be a conversion but shot in 3-D if they go that route.

Re: Saw 3D-1/25/2011

Sears has a 50" Samsung 3D plasma on sale for $989. I'm glad they saw the light and decided to release a 3D version after all; I mean the title of the movie is SAW 3D ;)

Re: Saw 3D-1/25/2011

I smell another Best Buy 3D exclusive. DirecTV will be offering the 3D version on PPV in January as well.

Why not just do a really good made for TV movie or even a 4 hour mini-series?

Re: Sherlock (BBC) begins tonight on PBS...

Ok, you got me. They edit almost everything. If they didn't cut "Sherlock", that's great. I'm still waiting for the discs. Feel better?

Re: Sherlock (BBC) begins tonight on PBS...

I never said that it was edited, simply that since many other recent shows on PBS have been cut for time, I was going to wait for DVDs which I know for a fact will be uncut.

Perhaps nothing, but considering they butcher everything else, I wouldn't be surprised.

Re: Sherlock (BBC) begins tonight on PBS...

Uncut DVD and Blu-ray versions out Nov.9th. I'll rent those, PBS edits everything these days. I don't see why, since they have plenty of time in the slot. Those Poirot and Marple shows are always...
