Re: The Boys (Amazon) C: Rogen, Goldberg, Kripke -- based on the comic -- S: Karl Urban -- premieres 7/26

There are some rumors online based on a character in the comic, but I tried to avoid details (as I haven't read the comic, and don't want to now because the show was so good - don't want to spoil...

Re: Disney’s The Little Mermaid - live action (D: Marshall)

Never underestimate a parent's need to find something for their kids to do during the summer. (plus throw in the parent's own nostalgia)

Re: The Lion King (Favearu, 2019) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Definitely worth seeing for visuals, i agree. In terms of new stuff, what stuck out the most was new (updated) dialogue with Timon and Pumbaa - that overall was pretty successful/funny.

Re: Jumanji: The Next Level (2019, D: Jake Kasdan) -- New, rumors, etc.

The first movie (well, the second one, but you know what i mean) far exceeded my expectations. Was great fun, and entertaining. I like how they aren't just going back to the exact same well, and...

Re: Rob Liefeld (or Sal Buscema?!?!?!?!) - Worst comic book artist ever?

Agree, i thought Keown did a great hulk - and he carried that into his hulk/sabretooth knock-off at Image. :)

Re: X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019, D: Kinberg) S: McAvoy, Fassbender, Lawrence, Turner, Hoult

Quicksilver is one of the few GREAT things about the latest x-men movies. at least they got that right (haven't seen Dark Phoenix yet)

Weird news about the skrulls and x-men - that would have...

Re: X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019, D: Kinberg) S: McAvoy, Fassbender, Lawrence, Turner, Hoult

Dead on. Let it sit as they move forward on Phase 4, get Fantastic 4 done right, then follow that up with a rebooted X-men.

Re: Spider-Man: Far From Home (7/2/2019, D: Watts)

Agree. I think i'm firmly back into the "not wanting to watch trailers anymore" camp. I used to love reading theories, analyizing trailers, etc. But now, not so much. Just hoping it doesn't play...

Re: Avengers: Endgame (The Russo Brothers, 2019) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Agree, and I can live with it, and I like the scene with Falcon, and Cap getting to live his life with Peggy. Just a hole for sure, after they actually took the time to establish ground rules. They...

Re: Avengers: Endgame (The Russo Brothers, 2019) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Right, that's my understanding as well - and they stuck to that logic for the most part, until they undid all of that logic with the final scene with Cap. It was heavily implied that he was on that...

Re: Avengers: Endgame (The Russo Brothers, 2019) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

No, you are correct. It was impounded/in storage.

My statement was just an alternative - why was it even impounded in the first place, when other shots clearly shows abandoned vehicles everywhere?

Re: Avengers: Endgame (The Russo Brothers, 2019) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Or - there were tons of aerial shots showing stuff just left places. Why would anyone have cared to move a van on the roof of a garage? A pigeon landing on the equipment could have even made more...

Re: Avengers: Endgame (The Russo Brothers, 2019) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Not sure if this was mentioned anywhere else. But I was talking with a friend about the 5 year gap, and it all the sudden dawned on me - "what happened to Ghost?"

She could have been snapped away,...

Re: Avengers: Endgame (The Russo Brothers, 2019) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Agree with your approach. Showing some sort of recognition and going to help, as opposed to all of them just happening to be right next to each other. I appreciate the scene, but it stuck out just...

Re: Avengers: Endgame (The Russo Brothers, 2019) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

exactly! i'm willing to buy the time travel theory that changing things in the past doesn't mess up the timeline you left, it just creates new timelines (even though, as they pointed out, it goes...

Oh I knew the "reason" people hated her - but I still don't understand or get it. But maybe that's because I consider myself to be a halfway decent human being.

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi (R. Johnson, 2017) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Especially when it's not really that actor's fault. Lucas wrote/directed/approved of everything he saw with Jar-Jar. How can we blame Best for that?

I still don't get the backlash on Tran, people...

Re: Captain Marvel (Boden/Fleck, 2019) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

I thought 3.75, rounded up to 4. I enjoyed it, liked the fallible memories aspect of it. Jackson de-aged looked great. Definitely haven't looked at my cat the same way all day.

Even though you...

Re: Shazam! (2019, D: David F. Sandberg) S: Zachary Levi

Yeah, right now it looks like ANOTHER movie villain with the exact same power set as the hero.

I honestly don't know that much about Captain Marvel villains, but thought Sivana was a genius...

Re: Captain Marvel (2019, D: Boden/Fleck) S: Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson

“When you are accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression.”
