Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Abrams, 2019) ó The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Yeah, the implication for me is that Leia pulled him through from the other side. Didn't her body disappear at the same time his did on Exegol?

Re: Criterion Sale 50% off MSRP - Barnes & Noble July 10, 2020 through ??Aug 2, 2020

My wife has threatened me with this because she hates all physical media and would love to use streaming for everything. But she understands that part of the hobby is the actual collecting of the...

Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Abrams, 2019) ó The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

I hate to derail this thread, but I've been arguing that last point for literally decades - that is exactly how Salvation by Grace is done in religions like Christianity. You can be a horrible person...

Re: Gary Larson's The Far Side is back!

Only seeing 3.

Taxi and aliens are pretty darned funny, but the bear one is just okay.

Glad to see him stretching his muscles again.

Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Abrams, 2019) ó The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

I always assumed, even before the prequels, that Yoda and Obi Wan helped Anakin come through to the light and appear as a Force ghost at the end of ROTJ when he died.
Anakin was still pretty...

Re: The Slurpee Icee Slushie Frozen drink thread

Oh, I should also mention, a couple of summers ago Sonic was offering a pickle juice flavored slush drink and of course I had to try it. The first couple of sips were okay (I like drinking pickle...

Re: The Slurpee Icee Slushie Frozen drink thread

I was just at Sonic over the weekend, thereís several around here and I got my favorite, a large cherry limeade. Itís closer to a Slush Puppy, a granular ice slurry with flavors but this also adds...

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

I played for about 15 minutes but the puzzles are too imprecise. I'd enjoy it more with a more specific method of solving them.

I don't recall this from the first time around, what's the...

Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Abrams, 2019) ó The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

I think the movie would have been improved by us seeing more Force ghosts in some way, to show that the Jedi are with Rey. But the actual battle should be her to show that's taken the lessons to...

Re: The Slurpee Icee Slushie Frozen drink thread

I'm pretty sure Slurpee, Icee and Slush Puppy are all brand treatments of the same concept.

Though Slush Puppy uses more of an actual "slush", i.e. little chunks of ice (like hailstones) in water...

Re: The One & Only DOCTOR WHO DVD Thread (8th Incarnation)

Thanks, I can't bring myself to upgrade to the Blus. I know it would save so much space, but there's a lot of the DVDs I haven't watched yet. I'm pruning the rest of my DVD collection on eBay, so...

Re: COVID-19 & Education Thread

They're trying to get ours back open, but cases in Illinois are still too high. We are very likely considering homeschooling him again for 8th grade. He was already homeschooled K-4, so it's not a...

Yeah, my wife was craving one yesterday so I ran in and got one. You still pour your own. The cashier is behind the plexiglass shield.

We're okay with running into stores like this and getting...

Re: The Slurpee Icee Slushie Frozen drink thread

As a kid I was terrible at baseball, but still kept getting signed up for Little League by my parents.

The only thing that kept me sane was the promise of one of these afterwards:

Re: Last DVD you watched?

The Mysterians.

Some great model work, but some pacing issues. I dozed a few times but I'm also on Rx painkillers that are making me feel off.

Re: $70 for games on the PS5 / Xbox Series X?

Not surprising. Itíd be easier to swallow if that meant less micro transactions but I doubt it.

This is where the things like Gamepass will really shine , also more opportunities for indie...

Re: Star Wars: What was your ideal vision for the Sequel Trilogy?

This last bit is a great comment. Made me think of Star Trek 6 where they modeled it after the end of the Cold War between Russia and the USA.

Even just another year of rewriting the scripts...

Re: Star Wars: What was your ideal vision for the Sequel Trilogy?

Grumpy Luke that hid for a while because he failed Ben Solo is not a bad idea. Grumpy Luke that didnít physically get on the Falcon with Rey and Chewie and actually rejoin the Resistance is the...

Re: Star Wars: What was your ideal vision for the Sequel Trilogy?

Excellent points all around. The fact there are still a lot of good stories being told means there are people who ďget itĒ. They see what the point of this galaxy spanning conflict is about. ...

Re: Star Wars: What was your ideal vision for the Sequel Trilogy?

I could see Hamill possibly agreeing but not Ford and they wouldnít dare recast Leia at this point.

Itís not like comics where the fans can understand resetting timelines and such, these are...
