Re: DC Comics Cuts Ties with Diamond

Marvel has said a lot of things in the past but the second the dollars stop rolling in, they put a stop to it. Some of the above have been adjusted more than once. IMO, if there was a unified front...

Re: DC Comics Cuts Ties with Diamond

You can blame retailers for jumping though hoops to get Marvel variants. If they decided not to play the game, Marvel would have stopped their variant program long ago. But since retailers bent over...

Re: The Nail

^ Actually, Marvel called their Imaginary Stories "What If?" Then DC went the "Elseworlds" route. Marvel switched it up with their "Alterniverse" label. More recently, DC revamped the concept with...

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

My store had a stack of them today and historically, he barely ordered Walking Dead during it's run.

Re: DC partners with Walmart

Part of me wants to get those last 100-Pagers just to own them now but my two closest Wal-Marts stopped carrying the comics. I haven't been able to check the two Wal-Marts on the way to work because...

Re: DC partners with Walmart

The Wal-Mart Giant program is done. They are being replaced with 4-packs of previously released comics for $8.98 each. Apparently, they'll have new variant covers (the way Marvel has been doing...

Re: The One & Only DOCTOR WHO DVD Thread (8th Incarnation)

Maybe. Resolution is 60 minutes so that could bring the run time to about 570 minutes (approx). Not sure about the run time on the special features. I know there's not too many this go-around.

Re: DC Comics Cuts Ties with Diamond

AT&T wouldn't sell DC. The IPs are still very valuable to them even if comic sales are in the tank. What AT&T would do is shut down in-house comic production and license out the characters to other...

Re: DC Comics Cuts Ties with Diamond

The timing is all wrong for this type of move after a global pandemic and continued looting across America. Retailers were just starting to crawl out of the hole. 100% an AT&T decision. There has...

Re: The One & Only DOCTOR WHO DVD Thread (8th Incarnation)

I noted this in the Blu-Ray forums: The US DVD running time for Series 12 is 510 approx. minutes. The UK release says their running time is either 550 or 580. It's hard to read from the image I...

That's awesome, Trevor. I have his autograph on my copy of the Creepshow graphic novel from the 80s.

Re: DC partners with Walmart

I thought about hitting my local WalMart to see if those 4 books were still on the shelf but decided to pass. Getting them "mid-run" would have driven me crazy that I didn't have the previous...

Re: List of comic books included with DVDs/BDs/etc

It's from a digital comic that was released the same time as the Blu-Ray. It's 96 pages and not even the complete story! They printed up to where the digital comic was current. I believe there...

Re: Rob Liefeld - Worst comic book artist ever?

Not defending EVS but his first Indiegogo made $538,456. Then he did another one right after for a variant cover of the same book that made $90,378. Then for a year, he did more variants and got...

Re: DC Comics Characters' 80th Anniversary

^ DC has it scheduled for June 23rd. Diamond says June 24th.

I went crazy on my Facebook page with anniversary stuff for GL this morning. Alan Scott is my favorite Lantern.

Re: DC Comics Characters' 80th Anniversary

Very surprised they skipped Captain Marvel's 80th back in December. He had a successful movie and everything. Not even a peep. Maybe because he didn't originate from DC?

Re: Coronavirus: An "Extinction Level Event" for the Direct Market

Super Sons was the best comic on the racks for the two years it ran (first as Super Sons then Adventures of the Super Sons). It was the most fun I had reading a book in a long time.

It's no secret...

Re: Coronavirus: An "Extinction Level Event" for the Direct Market
