re: The Ellen DeGenereres Show

So...you feel there would be more diversity if Hollywood was run by conservatives?

Re: Batwoman (CW) -- Season 1 Thread -- Premieres 10/6/19

Cool--I might give this show a shot now. Never watched the first season though.

Re: The Wonder Years reboot in development from EP Fred Savage and Lee Daniels at ABC

Loved the original. I dig the concept for the reboot. I'm down. I just hope it goes for the same kind of tone as the original.

Re: Has there been a miscast character in Marvel’s MCU?

Overall, I think the casting has been impressive. With that said, although I think Renner is a good actor, he just doesn't feel right on screen as Hawkeye. I honestly can't tell you why--something...

Re: Fleabag (Amazon) -- created by and starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge

I love this show. But to be fair, it's striking to me how much of a copy it is of Michaela Coel's "Chewing Gum."

Re: The Banker (2019, D: Nolfi) S: Anthony Mackie, Samuel L. Jackson, Nicholas Hoult, Nia Long

Been wanting to watch this for a while. This poor movie can't catch a break, theater wise. Oh well, at least it's available somewhere now.

Re: The End of the F***ing World (Netflix) -- premieres 1/5/18

Just finished the second season. Absolutely loved it. One of the rare seasons of a show I've watched where I honestly can't think of anything negative to say about it, nor anything I wished was in...

re: The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers (Disney+) S: Emilio Estevez, Lauren Graham - premieres 3/26/21

Jussie Smollett may have concocted a lie--this guy has a massive addiction and is spiraling out of control. His life is clearly in shambles and needs help. By comparison, Jussie Smollet has a hurt...

re: The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers (Disney+) S: Emilio Estevez, Lauren Graham - premieres 3/26/21

I find it absolutely crazy how the cast of the Mighty Ducks franchise haven't come together to try and save this guy's life. I don't get it. I understand you can't help people who don't want to be...

Re: Ally McBeal: Whatever happened to ....

Wow--almost a twenty year bump. Did I set a record?

Anyway, thanks to Hulu, I watched this entire series for the very first time. Took me about an entire year. Overall, I really enjoyed it...

Re: Captain Marvel (Boden/Fleck, 2019) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

I think people can be too hard on these origin character movies. The first Cap and Thor weren't anything too great or that well received either. People love both characters now, and their characters...

re: Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021, D: Destin Daniel Cretton)

No it doesn't. One casting doesn't undue another one. The Iron Fist casting was silly even if there were 100 Asian superheroes. The fact that there aren't even made it more absurd.

Re: Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO) - Series Discussion Thread

If a story is good, it's a story is good. Film, TV, comics--it's all make believe. I see no distinction.

Re: Marvel's Luke Cage (Netflix) -- Season 2 Thread -- premieres 6/22/18

I really enjoyed this season--thought it started slow but the second half really picked up. I actually felt the same about season 1--most people loved the first half. I thought the second half is...

Re: Homeland (S7E12) -- Season Finale -- "Paean to the People" -- 4/29/18

Just finished the season. Super late, but I guess I'll give my quick thoughts.

1) Season didn't feel like it truly had a major threat. So, there didn't feel like an overwhelming amount of...

Re: Black Panther (Coogler, 2018) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Bingo.

I think anyone can of course enjoy this film--it's a Marvel movie. But this movie deals with colonialism, pan-Africanism, and the connection and at times divide between Africans and...

Re: 24 Jack Bauer prequel series in the works at FOX

No one will like this (I'm not quite sure I even do ), but since they are spit-balling ideas and--for whatever reason--want the show to be tied to its roots somehow, what about this.

When...

Re: Better Call Saul (S3E10) -- Season Finale -- "Lantern" -- 6/19/17

Weird how this show, in some ways, might be ending soon if season 5 is the last season. I'd be okay with it, as much as I love the show.

I'm curious what people think...and I don't know if this...

Re: The End of the F***ing World (Netflix) -- premieres 1/5/18

Not a lot of buzz for this show apparently. I finished it a few days ago and I thought it was really, really good. Beyond the obvious of the performances and characters, I really enjoyed the music...

Re: Will we ever seen a motion capture performane receive major award recognition?

I think so. I think as the years roll on--with everything from movies to video games--people are becoming a lot more aware of the dedication to the craft of acting when it comes to performance...

Re: Prison Break (S5E09) -- Season Finale -- "Behind The Eyes" -- 5/30/17

Re: The Birth of a Nation (Parker, 2016) — Nat Turner rebellion film

Since this thread has become far more about the director than the actual content of the movie, what ever happened to the controversy surrounding X-Men director Bryan Singer? Wasn't he accused of...

Re: Vice Principals (HBO) -- S: McBride, Goggins -- Season 1 Thread -- Premieres 7/17

I'm not certain that the shooter is necessarily anyone we've ever seen on screen before.

But, just to be different, I'll go with the brown-haired female teacher that is obsessed with Gamby.
