Re: What's your unpopular opinion?

I agree. I have always thought he was the living president I'd be most comfortable with having over for dinner, as he seems genuine and nice to me. I also don't think he's dumb; just goofy.

re: Felicity Huffman (and dozens of others) arrested/charged with fraud - College Admissions

My daughter's roommate makes a living playing dota 2. It's bizarre. He's super nice and she likes him, but he barely ever leaves his room. My youngest son knows a kid who has an e-sports...

re: Felicity Huffman (and dozens of others) arrested/charged with fraud - College Admissions

I'm really stunned they had to secure money against their house. I mean, she's likely made millions on Full House, and he is behind Target's Mossimo brand. Seems like they'd be rolling in it and...

Re: Should plastic straws be eliminated?

I used my first paper straw since my childhood, and it was surprisingly okay. The ones I remember from the 70s would collapse on themselves as they got soaked with liquid. This one was stiffer, and...

Re: What's your unpopular opinion?

My kids like the monte cristo at Blue Bayou restaurant in Disneyland. It's always started with enthusiasm, but less than halfway in, it's too heavy to finish. I'm not a fan for that reason.

Re: What's good to try with Indian Food?

I would start with either a buffet (understanding nothing will be as good as fresh) or what some places call a thali dinner--you pick a main dish, and they'll also provide a variety of sides. If...

Re: Holy Heat Wave Batman!, How hot is it where you are?

I love cold weather--kind of bad timing (I'm going on a trip tomorrow), but my back yard:

Re: What is Toxic Masculinity?

I think we talk about toxic masculinity more than toxic femininity because we've been addressing toxic femininity under different names for decades. All my life we've been encouraging girls and women...

Re: Biggest Loser 2019 Health & Fitness Thread

Just finished my Whole30 a couple days ago and am down 12 pounds. I'm where I was, weight-wise, in early November, before the feeding frenzy of the Christmas season. So now I'm reintroducing foods...

Re: Last thing you bought...

I could see using that for pet proofing (keeping a dog out), but I would be very careful in assessing it for baby proofing. I had a kid who stuck his head through a hole in a Toyota Previa front seat...

Re: Going to Japan - sightseeing ideas? Food?

I'm so happy for you--that sounds like a wonderful trip. Any recommendations I'd have would be wayyy out of date, but I was a foreign exchange student for a year in Japan and loved it. Have a great...

Re: Carnival Cruise Line falsely accuses father of a sex crime then offers him a stea

I would like to do a river cruise. I'd booked a Christmas Market one for the end of this year on the Crystal Mahler, but cancelled as I don't think we can swing it right now. But in a year or two I...

Re: is eating a chore?

I couldn't handle Oelestra back in the day and only tried it once. And Escolar . . . well, it's delicious. I like it and will eat it if they give it to me, but get a little judgmental about it at...

Re: Carnival Cruise Line falsely accuses father of a sex crime then offers him a stea

You can certainly find lots of cruises like that that are over 10K/pp, but I looked and found many that were in the 2-3K pp range for a balcony. I would be happy with a ship that was 500-1000...

Re: Carnival Cruise Line falsely accuses father of a sex crime then offers him a stea

I think a cruise vacation is for people who like being on a ship. To me, the ports are secondary--I just like being out there, watching the scenery go by and I like the cold breeze. I'm only...

Re: What's your unpopular opinion?

My unpopular opinion is that in suburban and rural areas, cats (like children) should go outside. Even though outdoor/indoor cats have shorter lives on average, they're happier if they can chase...

Re: Why do people hate hobbies?

I don't think hobbies are a "guy" thing. Haven't met too many men who knit, sew, quilt etc, but lots of women who do. I trialed all those hobbies--knitted a sweater for an old boyfriend, made lots...

Maybe I bought mine from you, lol. I don't have a problem with it---I mean, I was pretty happy to just buy one on ebay and not have to shop around.

Re: The Gig Economy - do you side hustle?

Nope. I can make good enough money picking up more per diem work.

I used to though. Back in the day, I stood in line to buy wii's, then flipped them on ebay or craigslist. Some people were...
