Re: Disney's Cruella (2021, D: Gillespie) S: Emma Stone

Re: Psycho Goreman (2020, D: Kostanski, S: Brooks, Sweeney, Kennedy, others)

Anyone disappointed by this can't possibly have seen the trailer. It loved up to it 100%.

Fun stuff.

Re: How good was Millennium?

Season 1 is some grim and dark stuff.
Season 2 is fantastic. Great arc, wonderful freaky episodes and quality writing/acting.
Season 3 is such a shame after season 2 ...

re: Elliot Page discussion thread (formerly Ellen Page)

So a white man has been taking roles written for women for more than 2 decades, and is now trying to erase a succesfull female actress' name from history?
Seems misogynistic to me.

/s ... a little

Re: Warrior (Cinemax) -- From the creator of Banshee and Justin Lin -- Premieres 4/5/19

Episode 9 was so fucking badass! From start to finish.
Might be the best fight choreography on TV ever. Li Yong's flying kick takedown was something else. As was the nunchaku scene and so many more....

Re: Fatman (D: Nelms Brothers) S: Walton Goggins, Mel Gibson

Eh, yes. That's what we do on a discussion forum for movies. It's also what every reviewer in the world does.
What's that even supposed to mean?

Re: Fatman (D: Nelms Brothers) S: Walton Goggins, Mel Gibson

^ Yeah, unfortunately zany ideas and ludicrous behaviour are not black humour in and of themselves

Re: Fatman (D: Nelms Brothers) S: Walton Goggins, Mel Gibson

This did not live up to the trailer for me.
It's actually a quite serious drama/thriller with only a bit of black humour and very little action. It just doesn't quite work.
The movie is filled...

re: Boss Level (2021, D: Carnahan) S: Frank Grillo, Mel Gibson, Naomi Watts

Fun movie. Not high art, but highly entertaining with good action.
About what you'd expect from Carnahan

Re: Fargo (FX) -- S: Chris Rock -- Season 4 Thread -- Premieres 9/27/20

You are joking right? Because that's not his real dick in that movie

I'm enjoying the season a lot more now in the home stretch, but I still say it's not Fargo ...

Re: Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO) - Series Discussion Thread

Yeah, but ... he'll be right. He has mentioned it many time, and every single guest has said "Oh, of course he'll leave"

Re: The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020, W/D: Sorkin) — Netflix

I thought so too, but the more I looked, the more I became convinced that he just looks like him.

Re: Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO) - Series Discussion Thread

Bill loves Franken, and always has. To me it seemed like he was just really taken aback by him acting so weird and not like his usual smart, composed self.
I don't know what the fuck the dude was...

Re: Which one of the Big 3 horror franchises is your favorite?

I like all 3. The first Freddy flick is one of my favorites, and I appreciate Halloween for the groundbreaking movie it was. But the Friday series is the one I've had the most fun with and I can find...

Re: Fargo (FX) -- S: Chris Rock -- Season 4 Thread -- Premieres 9/27/20

Noah Hawley said in a recent podcast that during the shutdown he was able to re-edit the show, which resulted in episode 5 being made into 2. So 411 is really the new 6th episode, but "produced" as...

Re: The Wolf of Snow Hollow (2020, W/D: Jim Cummings) S: Cummings, Forster, Lindhome

Great movie. But it's not a horror movie.
It's a drama about a broken and his personal demons.

Re: Fargo (FX) -- S: Chris Rock -- Season 4 Thread -- Premieres 9/27/20

This season doesn't feel very Fargo-ish. It's not bad, but it's also not particularly interesting, quirky or exciting.
Compared to previous seasons (1 and 2 in particular), it kinda just "is". Not...

Re: Lovecraft Country (HBO) -- From EP Jordan Peele and J.J. Abrams -- Premieres 8/16/20

Christina wanted immortality, the others wanted to stop her and claim the magic of The Book of Names for themselves (black folks only).

Re: Unsolved Mysteries returns on Netflix -- premieres 7/1/20

Man, the first of the new season is really sloppy and jumping through all kinds of hoops. Jack's case really isn't that big a mystery IMO, if you think about it ...
Disoriented and delusional due to...
