Re: Walter Becker (Steely Dan) dead at 67

Been listening to Citizen Steely Dan all afternoon. If you get a chance, listen to the guitar work on the live track of bodhisattva. Becker is all over the map on that song...wow

Re: Do you still buy CDs / have you gotten rid of them?

I have over 1,000 CDs, and will never get rid of them. Been collecting since the mid 80s, and still make occasional purchases from SecondSpin (just picked up The Police's "Message In A Box", which...

Re: Do You Remember The First Sex Scene You Saw?

I think I was around 15 at the time, and my older brother took me to see Kentucky Fried Movie...so my first sex scene was "Catholic School Girls In Trouble". Starring Ronda Perry in her most famous...

Re: Artists who were great with their group, but disappointing as solo acts

That said, Outrider was a very good album. One side hard rock, the other slow blues. I remember I had the cassette, and would keep rewinding the blues side.

Re: Sully (2016, D: Clint Eastwood) S: Tom Hanks -- Capt. Chesley Sullenberger biopic

Excellent film, really enjoyed it! Special shout out to the tug boat captain arriving first on the scene to assist. I'm originally from Long Island, and that Brooklyn accent hit right home for me. ...

Re: Your favorite "Holy crap that was awesome" tv moments

Season's 3 final episode of MASH. That was a gut punch. I was completely caught off guard.

Re: If the Oscars had a do-over?

1976's "The Shootist" not even getting nominated for best picture, was one of the academy's worst offenses.

Re: Galavant (ABC) -- Season 2 Thread -- Premieres 1/3/16

Best comedy I've seen in years. Keeping fingers crossed there is a season 3. If not, I sure hope they release the first two seasons onto bluray, so I can relive the laughs.

Re: 'Broadway'/Musical Theater Album release 2013-14 thread

Love the Hamilton soundtrack. Got my daughter tickets for an August show. I've have purchased tickets for myself, but didn't want to take out a second mortgage on the house...:)

Re: If the Oscars had a do-over?

The Apartment was awful...shouldn't have even been a blip on the best picture radar. The Alamo would have won the 1960's best picture, going away. But that idiot Chill Wills and his over-the-top...

Re: If the Oscars had a do-over?

Two very different films about WWII (and both excellent), but I still feel Spielberg is the superior one.

Re: Galavant (ABC) -- Season 2 Thread -- Premieres 1/3/16

I think I'm enjoying the second season more than the first, if that's possible.

Re: Glee (FOX) - 6th & Final Season Thread - Fridays starting 1/9/15

yes, this season is odd, even by Glee standards. But at least they are (so far) not tackling weighty subjects like the gun hostage episode, or the bulimia story arc. Those were completely out of...

Re: Glee (Fox) -- Season 5 Thread

Hoping we see more of Puck, Quinn, and Brittany next year. Really enjoying the original 5 in NYC, but it would be so much better to bring the other original members back into the NTC fold too...

Re: Glee (Fox) -- Season 5 Thread

I thought the highlight of the episode was the song "Best Day Of My Life", performed around Times Square. Reminded me somewhat of the season 2 finale, which in my opinion, was the best Glee show...

Re: Glee (Fox) -- Season 5 Thread

Anyone been watching this, since it came back from hiatus? The first show was tolerable, and the last one was pretty good. Still too much potty-mouthed Becky, but at least they seem to be focusing...
