Re: Curse of Chucky (dir. Mancini, Dourif returns, 2013)

It moved at a fairly brisk pace, but outside of a good performance from Fiona Dourif, Brad Dourif doing a great job and a cute ending, there wasn't much to the movie. It lacked the scares/sense of...

Re: You’re Next (Wingard, 2013) — The Reviews Thread

I thought it was pretty enjoyable, but the hype for the movie seems really ridiculous. I was entertained and the movie delivered some good gore, a brisk and steady pace, and some new ides for this...

Re: Fruitvale Station (D: Ryan Coogler, S: Michael B. Jordan)

They established pretty early (and often) that he had some anger management issues. Great movie.

re: Curse of Chucky (dir. Mancini, Dourif returns, 2013)

Looks decent from that short look, I'll definitely watch it, won't blind buy. Chucky's face looks off though when he comes to life. Eyes are slanted, lips are more puckered, almost like he had a face...

Re: Pacific Rim (del Toro, 2013) — Charlie Day, Idris Elba & Robots

A couple of friends and I saw Pacific Rim tonight, and we all loved it. This movie was a complete blast and if any of the trailers/spots interest you you'll like the movie. The theater had it on 3...

Re: 2013 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

Was pretty amazing in the Tank tonight, I can't wait for game 4. Gotta win that one too. Quick got a ten minute misconduct after the game winning goal, some said he head butted a ref by accident but...

Re: 2013 NBA Playoffs/Finals Thread

As a big NHL fan who does watch the NBA playoffs, why the hell is game 1 of the East finals starting a full 3 days after the West finals? Just seems odd to me.

And yes, I am also rooting for an...

Re: The Company You Keep (2013) D: Redford S: Redford, LaBeouf, Sarandon, Kendrick

This looks fuckin great, and that cast is absolutely tremendous. I actually liked both Lions for Lambs and The Conspirator as well, I will definitely go check this out.

On an unrelated note, I...

Re: The Internship (June, 2013) - Owen Wilson / Vince Vaughn comedy about Google

Trailer does not look good, and I too loved Wedding Crashers. That stupid X-Men bit at the end made me chuckle though. Probably wait for DVD after the suckfest that was The Watch. And The Dilemma....

Re: A Good Day To Die Hard

I'm with ya stinger. I thought it was fairly entertaining, the short runtime helped here since they had absolutely no story or even semi interesting villains. Just a loose thing going on to go from...

Re: Bullet to the Head (Dir: Hill, S: Stallone, Kang, Shahi, Slater) - 2/01/13

I saw it tonight with some friends at a screening and we all thought it was a really fun, mindless action movie. Maybe it is being helped since we all slogged through The Last Stand (until the fun...

Re: Woman goes nowhere near kitchen to name Cloud Atlas and John Carter worst of 2012

The worst movie of 2012 is Don''t Go in the Woods. I hope none of you subject yourselves to it as I did.

Re: 2012 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 12

I had Brown benched until Sunday morning, when Denver announced they'd start Moreno over Hillman. Sat him for Bryce Brown. Currently 27.34 points in my league.

It is a shame Monday games cant be...

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2012

I'm really glad I checked the news in the AM on Sunday and saw that Moreno would start for Denver, benching Hillman and starting Bryce Brown.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2012

Definitely Turner. I just dropped Stephens-Howling, he has an injury and Beanie Wells is back. And I didn't have room for him since I picked up Marcel Reese, Bryce Brown and Ronnie Hillman.

Re: SINISTER (2012) (dir. Scott Derrickson) (Ethan Hawke, Vincent D'Onofrio)

The best jump scare in the whole thing, wish I would have jumped though.

I agree with WhySoBlue and maxfisher. I thought the movie was well done, but it kept feeling like it was...stalling I...

Re: Argo (Dir: Ben Affleck)

Scott is right on about everything. Affleck is 3 for 3, a tight movie here that is very engrossing. Minor quibbles about the ending aside, a great film.

I've always liked Affleck, especially since...

re: Cosmopolis (2012, D: Cronenberg) S: Robert Pattinson

Some movies just love the smell of their own farts. This is one of them.

Re: Stoker (2012 D: Park Chan-Wook) w. Kidman, Wasikowska, Goode

Indeed. The trailer is ok, but the director/cast is enough for me to be excited. Plus: "Hey Stoker, or do you go by Stroker now... since that's what I hear your moms been doing...to your uncle!"

Re: Weekend Box Office (9/21-9/23): Judge Dredd Bombs Again

I'm a big horror fan and House at the End of the Street looks really uninteresting and generic. I'll see it eventually, but definitely not in theaters.

I will check out Dredd though after hearing...
