Re: Need HDMI splitter/switch (short term fix) - suggestions?

Thanks for the...

Re: Need HDMI splitter/switch (short term fix) - suggestions?

Pretty sure the cables are fine because as long as I use the one port on the receiver, both Xbox and Blu-Ray work fine. But on the other two ports, the picture drops in and out (and the display...

Until a few months ago, everything on it was working well, but recently it...

Re: The One and Only Global Warming Thread, Part 11 (CO2 Kills 10 Billion People Edit

I don't have any real issues with him in general, but following Climategate last year and the repeated disprovings of Hansen, et al by multiple sources (previously posted by movielib here), I would...

Re: The One and Only Global Warming Thread, Part 11 (CO2 Kills 10 Billion People Edit

Well I also linked to Steven Goddard's site and the original German paper. But it's not as though this is the kind of thing that the press would be jumping over to begin with. If it doesn't fit the...

Re: Spy (2015, D: Feig) S: McCarthy, Byrne, Statham, Law

Saw this today with a nearly full theater (guess a stormy, rainy Saturday will do that). Very funny - and got the whole crowd laughing regularly - lots of older folks too.

A little more vulgar...

Re: The Devil's Carnival 10/23/12

After an apparently extended delay (I first watched part 1 on netflix last year - can't be bothered to pay that much for 1/3 of the full story - although the OST on itunes is amazing) - the full...

Re: Pixar's Inside Out (6/19/2015)

Enjoyed it a great deal - just myself - and I can see where some younger kids might not be quite as on-board with the more complex themes - but there are a lot of visual/character jokes for the...

Re: The 2016 Presidential Election thread

My issue with studies like this - it's great to compare countries, but at some point, you have to decide whether there's any logical comparison in scale between a country the size of North Carolina...

Re: Reasonbly Priced Region Free BD/DVD Player Recommendations

Thanks for the link. For some reason I didn't check it out earlier as I was assuming it was a UK e-store. I'll try one of those - $140 for a modded Sony sounds like a bargain (and no voltage issues...

Re: Reasonbly Priced Region Free BD/DVD Player Recommendations

Yeah...considering all my non-Region A BRs are from the UK (as well as the other ones I plan on buying) - that probably is the fastest/cheapest way to go. Looks like quite a few for under $100 USD...

Re: Reasonbly Priced Region Free BD/DVD Player Recommendations

Well, back when DVDs were new, most players then also had to be physically modded with chips installed, etc (like modding an old playstation to play Japanese games). I started out with a DVD-ROM on...
