Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

I see your point, but again, I respectfully disagree. I still love the original, but I was just surprised by how much I liked the "remake". Both are great movies in my mind...but I get what you are...

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Lots and lots of great actors/actresses in this movie but I found the story lacking...I just didn't find the way the story was structured that compelling...The bones of the story are there, but I...

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Intolerable Cruelty - Obviously lesser Coen Brother film. There's a couple gigantic plot holes that make no sense...I know they didn't write the original script and only came aboard after being...

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

I thought this one was just as good as the original. Haneke hardly ever falters...And I really liked the acting by Brady Corbet and Michael Pitt...

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Dunston Checks In - Don't know why, but I love this movie. Probably cause I first watched it as a kid, but I think it holds up pretty well. I've always liked Jason Alexander, who is very good in...

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids - Still enjoyable after all these years (despite the DVD only being in Full-Frame)...I like this movie. Rick Moranis is great. The story is pretty awesome. Also like Matt...

How was it? I love most Wim Wenders films, and hadn't even heard about this one...I also like McAvoy and Vikander...

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

First Man - I actually found this one to be pretty boring. I loved Whiplash...I loved parts of La La Land, but this one left me cold. I also really didn't like how most of the film seemed to be...

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

I agree with your assessment, and I must say that the opening scene is stunning. Even if it is kind of a "bad movie", that opening scene was amazing and shocking. I loved it.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

The Last Days of Disco - Was initially put off by the bitchy/spoiled characters in this movie, but it slowly grew on me. The dialogue was fantastic, and I got really into the movie about halfway...

Re: What '80s/'90s movie franchise just needs to call it quits already?

I know I've said it before, but Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan is actually an awesome and incredibly underrated movie. I probably pop that one in once a month and am always...

D.O.A. (1988) - The Dennis Quaid/Meg Ryan remake. Surprisingly solid neo-noir movie. Some neat plot twists, which mostly make sense...And Daniel Stern and Brion Jones have some good roles...I...

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 > 10/26/18

That's my point, too. I don't intentionally go looking for trouble, but it seems extremely easy to catch a bounty, even if you completely try to avoid whatever situation you've just ran into. And...

Sadly, I have to agree. I was really looking forward to playing this game but ended up quitting after about two weeks. I might pick it up again sometime when I have like a week off, but as it...

Re: Criterion releases on Blu-Rays, Part II

The Mission is an awesome movie. Unfortunately, the DVD I have is just awful. In order to hear anything, you really have to crank the volume, and it looks like the subtitles were "burnt" onto the...

Re: Criterion releases on Blu-Rays, Part II

While I'd love to see them re-release Hard Boiled and The Killer, I would be in heaven if they released Bullet in the Head (or Bullet to the Head, can't remember the exact title)...I've wanted to...

Yeah, was definitely disappointed in this. Not sure how different it would've been had John Belushi actually lived to film it (he was replaced with Chase after he passed away)...Given the script, I...
