Re: do you think blu ray will over take dvds?

Here's another poll idea: do you think punctuation will become completely optional within the next few years?

Re: Back to the Future - The Complete Trilogy - $10.49

The first pressing of the widescreen editions of II and III was improperly framed. See here (http://www.angelfire.com/film/bttf2/).

Re: Are we getting Conned with Movies of Cancelled TV Shows ?

Here's my 2 cents, since nobody has mentioned Dead Like Me yet. Great series, smart and funny, prematurely canceled after the second season (had plenty of life left in it, too--ironically). It wasn't...

Re: The aging of actors:imagined vs. reality

Funny you should ask--I was just rewatching Back to the Future a few nights ago and kept thinking that Crispin Glover as the 1985 version of George McFly (i.e. "aged" 25 years) looks pretty much...

re: (DEAD) DDD 25% Sale - It's Live! (For Now)

Re: Terminator Salvation (McG, 2009) The Reviews Thread

A lot of people have said this... and I'm thinking, "So?" Do we always have to leave the theater feeling all warm and fuzzy inside? Besides, at least it would be memorable. I'd rather feel bad for a...

Re: Terminator Salvation (McG, 2009) The Reviews Thread

For what it's worth, it's been done in one of the comic books, actually. In The Terminator: Tempest, a group of terminators traveling back to the present brings along a plasma gun sewn up in some...

Re: Terminator Salvation (McG, 2009) The Reviews Thread

OK, I can't believe I'm actually doing this, but here goes:

T-800 vs. Matt Buchanan (Ginger's boyfriend): approx. 30 seconds from "Don't make me bust you up man!" to bloody corpse through the...

Re: Terminator Salvation (McG, 2009) The Reviews Thread

In principle, you're right. But, while Cameron had the good sense to keep these sequences lean and mean (I mean, how much onscreen time do the T1 fights get?), McG & Co. drag them out ad infinitum. I...

Re: Terminator Salvation (McG, 2009) The Reviews Thread

Oh. Dear. Lord.

So, I'm reading about the original script and thinking, this sounds so much better than what we got. Connor as the mysterious, absent figure. More character development for Reese...

Re: Terminator Salvation (McG, 2009) The Reviews Thread

That's what I thought, too. It could totally see John Connor a truly tragic character who delivers humanity from the brink of extinction but loses everything in the process. Sort of like Battlestar...

Re: Terminator Salvation (McG, 2009) The Reviews Thread

I don't see why the status of a summer blockbuster should somehow excuse shoddy writing. What, just because it's a multi-million dollar action franchise we cannot expect it to make sense?

Re: Terminator Salvation (McG, 2009) The Reviews Thread

This is one of the prime examples of the unbelievable incompetence of the script. Instead of making sure that the plot develops logically, why not ask the audience to try and rationalize it...

Re: Terminator Salvation (McG, 2009) The Reviews Thread

That was one of the things that really bugged me. Same with the meeting between Reese and Wright. I realize the kid has grown up in some messed up times, but he comes across a guy who obviously has...

Re: Terminator Salvation (McG, 2009) The Reviews Thread

I saw it earlier today. I was relieved to find out that it was not nearly the anal rape some of the reviewers have made it out to be. Sure, it does not quite measure up to the first two movies, but...

Re: TERMINATOR: Salvation (aka T4)

That's not an assumption. In T2, T-800 clearly states that the T-1000 is an "advanced prototype." Sure, the comic books introduce multiple T-1000s, there are also at least two in the TV series, and...

Re: TERMINATOR: Salvation (aka T4)

I was referencing the idea that he would not license his likeness.
