Re: Karate Kid 5 (2024) in development

Bad idea, nobody is going to pay to see this. If the series was never made could make money with the return of Larusso, Johnny, Kreese,Chozen, Barnes, etc. However, probably for the best that they...

Re: Biggest disappointments the last 10+ years (2010-present)?

Not seeing Luke/Han/Leia together was probably the biggest disappointment.

I don't know why but was expecting Coming 2 America to surprise me and be good but certainly was not. The Hangover...

Re: Disney's Pinocchio - Live Action (2022, D: Zemeckis) S: Tom Hanks

I enjoyed this more than most of these Disney remakes and kept my kids interest. Didn't really like Hanks in this but never really liked that character in general.

Re: Hard Knocks: Training Camp with The Detroit Lions (HBO/HBO Max) -- Premieres 8/9/22

Watched the first two episodes last night and enjoyed it, Campbell and the coaches are entertaining at least. Had no idea who the Lions backup QB was but after watching this remembered Blough caught...

Re: Anne Heche, 53, dies after fiery car accident (2022)

What I remember most about her Biography was that it was released right before 9/11, one day she was everywhere selling the book and getting media hype and the next it was completely gone and...

Re: Drago — S: Dolph Lundgren — In development at MGM

The time to get ownership was probably around the resurrection of the franchise with Rocky Balboa as part of the agreement to come back. Doubt Creed would have happened without him either. Even in...

Re: "Banned" Sesame Street episode finally leaked online

All episodes are available at the Library of Congress and can be viewed there, including this episode previous to the leak online.

Re: Holey Moley -- Yup, it’s definitely Summer

I generally enjoy The Muppets but they added nothing to the season, doesn't really help that I can't stand the current Kermit. Overall though this is a fun Summer show that is nice to watch on Hulu...

Re: Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty (HBO) -- Season 1 Thread -- EP: Adam McKay

I finally caught up and this last episode was a shit show, just bad. Artistic license is fine but revolving the whole episode around how Paul Westhead didn't know what he was doing and acting like...

Re: Could you look past the sins of an actor (Will Smith, Bill Cosby) and still admire their art?

I find it difficult to look past the rapists/woman beaters/murderers. I can't enjoy things that William Hurt and Bill Cosby did even though I did in the past. I have always ignored Roman Polanski and...

Re: 'Secret' Christmas Movies

One movie I just saw this past weekend again was Catch me if You Can. The whole movie certainly isn't around Christmas and covers many years but there are four scenes, some very pivotal, that revolve...

Re: Jackass Forever (2022)

I watched the first three movies again before getting around to this on Paramount+. I thought this one was funny and enjoyed it but watching the other three made me realize how much Bam and Dunn...

Re: Movies that were a critical disappointment at release, but now tend to be considered a classic?

It does seem like comedies have the best chance to have bad reviews then become classics or cult classics. Caddyshack, Office Space and Dumb and Dumber come to mid right away as well.

Re: Movies that were a critical disappointment at release, but now tend to be considered a classic?

That wasn't my recollection. Siskel and Ebert were gushing over the movie. There might have been some that gave it a bad review but wasn't a critical disappointment overall.

Re: William Hurt dead at 71

For sure. Kind of unfair she was asked about him on the red carpet yesterday, which she handled probably as best as she could.

Re: Free Guy (2021, D: Levy) -- S: Ryan Reynolds -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

I somehow missed all of the trailers for this so didn't have any clue what this was about. Kids turned it on and I thought it was hilarious, brought me back to my Grand Theft Auto days a number of...

Re: Dog (2022) -- Co-directed by and starring Channing Tatum

I saw this yesterday. While there were silly antics at times I think they did a good job of never really losing the audience where it got so ridiculous and certainly has its serious moments. The...

Re: 80 For Brady (D: Marvin) S: Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, Sally Field, Tom Brady

Good to see older women getting a starring role in a movie and give credit to Paramount for doing this in the past as well. Don't expect much based on the plot however.

Re: Peacemaker (HBO Max) C: James Gunn, S: John Cena - premieres 1/13/22

Even if you don't like the intro it's not that hard to take a step back and realize it got people talking about the show. Most intros now a days are boring as shit and probably a lost opportunity. I...

Re: First R rated movie you saw in the theater?

I remember watching Total Recall and Air America the same weekend. Air America at a first run theater and Total Recall at a budget. Never had the guts to try prior but nobody cared I was only 13.

Re: The Book of Boba Fett (S1E07) - Finale - “Chapter 7: In the Name of Honor” - 2/9/22

I would think Luke would want to make sure Grogu made it safely. He wouldn't care about a bunch of crime lords but he should know just sending Grogu to Tatooine might not be the best idea considering...

Re: The Book of Boba Fett (S1E06) - “Chapter 6: From the Desert Comes a Stranger” - 2/2/22

A little(or a lot) over the top to say this was one of the top Star Wars moments. It's nice to see Luke and R2 again but nothing significant really happened. If Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford actually...

Re: RIP Howard Hesseman (AKA: Johnny Fever)

Too young for WKRP but really enjoyed Head of the Class. Didn't realize he didn't have many positive things to say about that show until I started revisiting the show on HBO MAX and reading up on it.

re: A Christmas Story Christmas (2022, D: Kaytis) - S: Peter Billingsley

A little surprised it took this long to do a sequel with actors from the original but I guess without Billingsley or McGavin what would be the point. Billingsley looks okay but who knows if he can...
