Re: Green Room (2016) D: Jeremy Saulnier, S: Patrick Stewart, Anton Yelchin, Macon Bl

My jaw hurts from clenching during the entire film. It's the most intense movie I've seen in ages.

Re: The Hateful Eight (2015, D: Tarantino)

The 70mm version includes an overture and intermission. I wonder whether this accounts for the extra length?

Re: Terminator: Genisys (2015) -- S: Schwarzenegger -- The Reviews Thread

That close-up would never be shot while the helicopter was actually flying, so why hide a pilot behind the actor? T1000's arms are an intentional plot point.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (2015) -- S: Schwarzenegger -- The Reviews Thread

We see the time machine in the Cyberdine rubble glowing with some red energy, and the Skynet hologram returns.

I had to choke down a few elements (casting, bad dialogue, that ending), but I...

Re: Aloha (2015, D: Cameron Crowe) S: Cooper, Stone, McAdams, Murray, Baldwin, Krasin

As a hapa born and raised in Hawaii, I was charmed by the character interplay and portrayal of Hawaii from a non-tourist perspective. The entire "second payload" subplot had me scratching my head...

Re: Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014, Scott) S: Bale, Paul, Edgerton, Weaver, Kingsley

Kingdom of Heaven's Director's Cut elevated the film from the theatrical from a 2 to an 8 for me. I'll wait for a potential DC of Exodus.

re: Whiplash (2014, D: Damien Chazelle) - Miles Teller & J.K. Simmons

Fantastic film- his is an iconic character that hopefully Simmons will be remembered for over his Spiderman role. Also want to note how fantastic I found the cinematography, especially in light of...

Re: Terminator: GENISYS (2015, D: Taylor) S: Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtne

We'll be seeing a BTTF2 style re-interpretation of certain scenes from the first Terminator, such as the Bill Paxton scene (different actors though).

Re: What makes you decide to see something in the theater vs renting it instead?

Spoilers are the primary factor in seeing something in the theater. However, when something like Snowpiercer comes out on VOD, I actually prefer to watch it at home just to avoid the inconsiderate...

Re: Deliver Us From Evil (2014) - S: Bana, Ramirez, D: Scott Derrickson

My favorite aspect was Joel McHale's character, whereas Olivia Munn was terrible. I think I'll avoid screenings of work-in-progress cuts in the future, because while I like the genre, the cut I saw...

Re: Address MOD Questions....?

I'm sure we can all relate to this, and I'd have far more respect for a "parent" who can admit that they've made a mistake, rather than let their ego get in the way.
