Re: Wonka (2023) - Willy Wonka Prequel

If they haven't cast this thing yet, I think John Mulaney could be a great Wonka. Hopefully his rehab is going well.

Re: Disney/Pixar's Lightyear (2022) V: Chris Evans

But maybe not for this role. If this character really were Buzz Lightyear, Allen would probably get more than Evans. Just as no other actor would be paid as much as Evans to portray Captain America.

Re: Every 2021 WB movie streaming simultaneously on HBO Max upon theatrical release

I wonder if this will be the end of Christopher Nolan's nearly 20-year run at Warner Bros.

Re: SNL 12/05/20 (S46E07) -- H: Jason Bateman, MG: Morgan Wallen

I think the only thing from Mooney that I've liked has been the Inside SoCal sketches. They haven't done them in a while though.

Re: Exceptional performances by an actor or actress playing a minor character?

Stephen Graham as Tony Pro in The Irishman, and as Babyface Nelson in Public Enemies (and probably others I haven't seen)

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

Mo Rocca? He's a smart guy, a bit of a comedian but not too much for the gig. He has hosted the Geography Bee since 2016 (which Trebek hosted from 1989-2013).

Re: Commercials you absolutely f&*$ing HATE

Maybe "hate" is too strong of a word, but that Macy's commercial in which the girl tries to figure out what to buy her dad for Christmas is just not realistic. He doesn't want socks; today's dad...

Re: Would you pay a small premium to legally get a new system without hassle?

Because the jump isn't as big as it was in the past. Mario 64 and Pilotwings 64 couldn't be done on the SNES. Now, there's no need for big exclusive launch titles because games can be released on 2...

Re: SNL 10/10/20 (S46E02) -- H: Bill Burr, MG: Jack White

The Sam Adams ad was kind of a rehash of the Dunkin' Donuts bit with Casey Affleck from a few years ago. I was wondering if there would be any references to the Samuel Jackson beer on Chappelle's...

Re: SNL 10/03/20 (S46E01) -- H: Chris Rock, MG: Megan Thee Stallion

I wonder what kind of restrictions there will be on the comedy itself. Can they really make fun of Trump like they used to with him in the hospital?

Re: Untitled Madonna Biopic D : Madonna W : D. Cody & Madonna

Bob Fosse kinda did it with All That Jazz?

Re: Super Mario 3D All-Stars (Switch; 9/18/20)

How were they inverted? I like left and right normal, but up and down inverted (so when you push down on the stick, you look up into the sky). Is that not possible now?

Re: Untitled Madonna Biopic D : Madonna W : D. Cody & Madonna

I'd go with Live to Tell. Although Material Girl or even Ray of Light could also work.

Re: The Oscar Rule Changes - Discussion Thread

How will multiple hats work? For example, will a typical Spike Lee film get credit for having a black writer, black director and a black producer, even though it's just him doing all of that?

I...

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Well, the Z trigger on the N64 controller wasn't much different from today's left trigger. The N64 controller just put your hands really close together.

Idina should play Kimberly Guilfoyle on SNL.

Re: Money Plane Kelsey Grammer Edge, Denise Richards, and two Lawrence brothers

You mean it's not a long-awaited sequel with Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes together again?

Re: Wilford Brimley dead at 85

My brother and I had this joke a while back in which he was a spokesman for tampons (because it was so bizarre). In the commercial he would say "it's the right thing to do and the sanitary way to do...

Re: Say you could rent a theater and see Alien or Close Encounters - what do you choose?

I think it would depend on the size of the theater. A huge theater would call for Close Encounters, while with a smaller theater I'd take Alien.

Re: Disney's Mulan (2020, D: Niki Caro) -- live action

They should do like Peacock and set up a free, ad-supported tier that would still allow you to buy first-run titles like this. Keep the animated classics and Pixar on the paid version, but offer some...

Re: What TV plots wouldn't work today due to modern technology?

At one point during the show (My Two Dads), they did do a DNA test. But the girl didn't want to know so they never revealed it.

Re: Report: G4 As We Know It Is As Good As Gone.

I just don't see the point. All of the gaming content you could want is already on YouTube. It turns out that regular people can produce this sort of thing better than a cable channel could.

It's a good thing they have changed the font. Still can't believe they got away with Papyrus.

Re: Ozark (Netflix) -- Season 3 Thread -- premieres 3/27/20

I'm kind of surprised they aren't breaking the final season into 2 parts (like Breaking Bad and Mad Men) so they can get 2 years of Emmy consideration instead of 1.
