No microwaving. I'm on the computer, web browsing or something. Everything going normal, then suddenly, a page takes forever to load or times out. I look at the clock and it's midnight. It's...

Re: Internet glitch every midnight ?

AFAIK, the router (Linksys WRT54GS) doesn't have a WAN uptime indicator.
I browsed through all the router menus and didn't seen anything like that.

Re: Internet glitch every midnight ?

What does this mean? Are you saying dtcarson's theory is wrong, and that the issue is unrelated to IP release/renew?

Internet glitch every midnight ?

Precisely at midnight, every midnight (afaik), my internet connection fails. If I am downloading something, the download will be broken. If I am loading a webpage, the browser will timeout and show...

Re: The CSI Trilogy (Miami, NY, Las Vegas) --3-part episode -- 11/9, 11/11, 11/12/09

Don Flack said the crashed 18-wheeler was leased from Charlottesville, NC.
There is no Charlottesville, NC. They probably meant Charlotte, NC.
Big blunder for such a high-profile show.

Re: Flash Forward -- "The Gift" -- 11/05/09

I see his suicide as majorly selfless act. Not only to save Celia, but to give a giant dose of hope to those who experienced a problematic FlashForward.
But, on the flipside, it could be a bummer to...

Will a standard def TV play an HD input ?

I'm considering getting one of these HD media player devices (http://gizmodo.com/5397986/) to watch my various computer video files on my TV. My TV is a standard def TV with RCA jacks...

Re: DVD Player Turning Itself Off

If it's not eligible for warranty return or WalMart return/replace then you just have to experiment. Try leaving it unplugged for a long time, like overnight, to force a hard reset. You could also...

Re: DVD Player Turning Itself Off

Is this a change from how it originally behaved?
I have a Philips DVP5990, and it is slow to "boot up" compared to other brands I have owned. 10-ish seconds is normal. Also it has sleep feature...

Re: Some AVIs work, others don't?!

You need a tool which can "analyze video files" (use these search terms).

The essential informations you need to know are:

1)image size - your dvd player has a maximum size it can play....

Re: Do you own a Blu-Ray Player?

Nope. It's pointless without an HD TV. Which I don't have yet.

Re: Power Supply: Is bigger always better?

Thanks all for the replies.

I'm seeing price overlaps within the 400-600W range, so it doesn't necessarily cost more for a beefier PSU, with promotional discounts and rebates and such. For...

Power Supply: Is bigger always better?

I need to replace the dead power supply in my homebuilt computer.
It's an old P4 motherboard; the user guide says use 400W for fully loaded.
Shopping around I've seen a 600W (Kingwin) supply in...

Re: Help!Phillips 5992. How to arranged the folders . Drive Sort use [merged]

The file listing on the 5990 is pretty clunky and strange (compared to what PC users are accustomed to). I can understand OP wanting a better way. You don't realize how nice it is to have stuff...

Re: Linksys WRT54G Router - Need help! It just... died on me.

I know you're avoiding rebooting the tower because of the battery situation, but you still need to reset the computer's IP somehow, after you disconnect or reconnect ethernet or change anything in...

Re: Linksys WRT54G Router - Need help! It just... died on me.

Sorry dude.... It's easy to correct the clock by right-clicking on it, then "adjust date/time". The low battery warning is the for the disk-type battery on the motherboard that maintains your clock...

Re: Linksys WRT54G Router - Need help! It just... died on me.

Not sure what to try next. I guess it wouldn't hurt to get the new router just to rule out your existing modem as defective or not. But I suspect some configuration settings all hosed up.

Last...

Re: Linksys WRT54G Router - Need help! It just... died on me.

What modem do you have? (manufacturer and model number).

With internet working(via tower+modem), what is default gateway and DHCP server ? Do 'ipconfig /all' at command prompt to get these infos.

Re: Linksys WRT54G Router - Need help! It just... died on me.

Did you try the “to restart the connection and try to establish full connectivity, click Repair” fix when you did the latest ethernet tests of laptop-to-router and tower-to-router? (Or in...
