Re: DVD Talk Criterion Challenge Spine #12 Discussion Thread

Oddly, I don't seem to own a copy of Seven in any form at all. That shocks me, as I'm pretty familiar with most of my collection and assumed I had it. I guess I'll have to track it down now.

I...

Re: DVD Talk Criterion Challenge Spine #12 Discussion Thread

Sadly slower than I'd hoped. I don't know why, despite Covid, I seem to have less time than I thought. I do have my Crash ticket for 3:00pm tomorrow though! I've seen it a few times but never thought...

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 16: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checklist)

Well put. However, I'm not sure how Chad feels, but it may count just because it's on Shudder.

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 16: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checklist)

I liked it, but I'd be hard pressed to call it "horror". Others may have a different opinion. Really nothing like The Babadook (which some also question as to it being horror, but I think it is).

Re: DVD Talk Criterion Challenge Spine #12 Discussion Thread

I forgot about Safe! I have it on an old DVD (not Criterion). I'm definitely pulling that one out! I haven't seen it in over a decade and I love Julianne Moore

Re: DVD Talk Criterion Challenge Spine #12 Discussion Thread

Watched Ken Russell's Women In Love (1969). It was okay but, unlike Something Wild, the special features are BORING as hell! Gave up on them and decided to watch the special features from Dazed and...

Re: "Official" DVDTalk Challenges Compendium

Could we vote on and add only 1 a year? Make it special, like the R&R Hall of Fame. Not flood the challenge with new distributors all at once but add a new worthy one each year. Just a suggestion.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 16th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

That's awesome! Bought my pass just now... By the time it's all said and done, it was $16 Canadian, but still well worth it. Thanks for the tip!

Re: DVD Talk Criterion Challenge Spine #12 Discussion Thread

I'm a purist but mostly because I still have a butt load of Criterion discs I haven't watched. I don't have the channel either, but it doesn't matter much since I just want to use this to get through...

Glad I'm an annual subscriber so I can push off the increase but I think it's well worth it anyway. Long live Shudder!

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 16: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checklist)

Sorry, late to the party, but I'll say yes to starting 2 weeks early (count or not count, but I'd lean towards counting) and I'll take a subset day.

Re: The Eleventh Annual May Make-Your-Own Challenge **Discussion Thread**

I made it to the end of Chuck, although I just realized I had watched season one in April so only did 2 - 5 during May. I watched a dozen episodes of season one of Shazam! (1974) and even had time at...

Re: The Eleventh Annual May Make-Your-Own Challenge **Discussion Thread**

That sounds like my history with Smallville. I have season 1 to 5 on DVD, season 6 and 7 on HDDVD and 8 to 10 on BD. It's just the way the technology evolved over that time. Looks weird on the shelf!...

Re: The Eleventh Annual May Make-Your-Own Challenge **Discussion Thread**

Sorry for smacking you in the face with reality! lol

Actually it's tougher than I thought. Even watching 2 or 3 "hour" long episodes a day isn't enough. Chuck has 91 episodes, so you NEED to watch...
