Re: "The Faculty" Reviews/Discussion - 2019 Horror Challenge

I still think the movie is garbage, but it seems I'm in the minority.

Re: The Addams Family (2019) - V: Isaac, Theron, Janney, Middler, Moretz, Wolfhard, Kroll

Reviews are pretty abysmal. The movie seems to have been written by a committee who never read the comic strips, barely remember the TV show, and kind of remember the movies.

Re: Disney's Jungle Cruise (2020, D: Collet-Serra) S: Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt

Boy did I laugh and laugh and laugh at all those comedic hi-jinks and zippy one-liners!

Re: Future DC Extended Universe projects discussion thread - News, rumors, etc.

I wasn't referring to you (although I do enjoy taking the piss sometimes), but how surface-level fandom tends to shit on DC as a kneejerk reaction to ANY news.

If you've ever read this, you know that they could make one AMAZING Lex Luthor movie.

Re: Bella Thorne as female Ghost Rider?

Ghost Rider is an insanely great visual but a boring character. Nic Cage was perfect the role because he brought it way over the top, where it belonged. I think the doofy sequel was better than the...

Re: What are your thoughts about your favorite team tanking a season to rebuild & get high draft picks?

Completely anecdotal but three Season ticketholder households I know have thrown in the towel. They've had enough of sitting in steaming humidity watching boring, mediocre, uninspired football. The...

Re: What are your thoughts about your favorite team tanking a season to rebuild & get high draft picks?

Native South Floridian, grew up in Miami and they have been my team as long as I can remember.

I have grown to loathe "The Perfect Season". Ever since then they've had no impetus to improve. A...

Re: "Cat People" Reviews/Discussion - 2019 Horror Challenge

I love this movie. Essential viewing every year. A really entertaining supernatural(?) thriller with enough subtext to float hours of vlogger Psychosexualty 101 analysis. Simone Simon

And...

Re: Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019, D: Michael Dougherty) -- The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Yeah its foreign BO was puzzling. Generally big budget spectacle goes over well in foreign markets, especially China. Of course Godzilla being a Japanese creation might not go over well.

Honestly...

Re: Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019, D: Michael Dougherty) -- The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

The bolded above isn't true. Last Knight disappointed, but it cleared $605 million worldwide on a $240 million budget. KotM grossed only $385 million on a $185 million budget.

Transformers made...

Re: The "Cops Behaving Badly" Thread

The Castle Doctrine (at least in Florida, although I'm pretty sure Texas applies as well) defines that any intruder in your house, for whatever reason (not a guest, or someone invited in) is an...

Re: "Videodrome" Reviews/Discussion - 2019 Horror Challenge

Videodrome is, to me, a masterpiece of contemporary science fiction. Here's my overlong review from 2012. Spoilerized for size and while I'd edit the fuck out of it, my thoughts on the film are still...

Re: Your Favorite Lines in TV History ?

I came in specifically to post that quote. So damn good

I love how Michael Gross paused and almost broke character between the words 'kangaroo' and 'in'
