Re: Monty Python's Flying Circus - HD Restored Blu-ray - 11/4/19

Streaming likely in the wrong frame rate. Funny how they can put THIS out on Blu-ray though but not many recent shows shot in HD.

Re: Would you miss theaters if everything became streaming?

Was the baby wearing 3D glasses?

I've thought about bringing condoms to hand to people whose kids do that.

Re: Landlords on my case about my cleanliness!

It's simple really- I start with the highest number of discs and sides and go from there. The start of my shelves has that Total Movie set (remember that?) which is about 21 discs, 20 of which are...

Re: Why is the McRib so darn tasty?

None near me either- pissed because the latest advertising implies that it's being served EVERYWHERE, but again it's like last time with just a select few locations.

Re: Gemini Man (2019, D: Ang Lee) S: Will Smith, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Clive Owen, Benedict Wong

Regal's website actually lists the 4DX showings as 2D, though that may be likely due to the technical limitations of the equipment as not everything can show high frame rate. That's likely why IMAX...

Re: Landlords on my case about my cleanliness!

I'd put that in storage til I had room for it. My friend who posts here rents a storage unit just to keep a table and chair set that has sentimental value.

Re: Landlords on my case about my cleanliness!

Which is why I usually grab whatever ones I want when I see them anywhere, not worrying so much about where to keep them. Someday the few sources still around for them won't be there.

Re: No More Simpsons on DVD

Would go ahead and order this if it were Blu-ray, already have all the seasons on DVD and switched to Blu-ray when it did. Haven't bought season 18 since they downgraded that back down to DVD and...

Re: The Addams Family (2019) - V: Isaac, Theron, Janney, Middler, Moretz, Wolfhard, Kroll

Most theaters running ONE 3D showing per day with tons in shitty 2D. No wonder I've stopped going.

Re: Landlords on my case about my cleanliness!

Those have all been properly stored anyways. Fell off the wagon yesterday after the successful interview, went by a thrift store and got 3 Charlie Chan DVD box sets still sealed for $4 each. I shelve...

Re: Gemini Man (2019, D: Ang Lee) S: Will Smith, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Clive Owen, Benedict Wong

Will probably go see this since it won't likely be replicated at home properly. Anyone know if Regal 4DX showings are also in high frame rate 3D? Common sense would say it would be but you can never...

Re: Landlords on my case about my cleanliness!

Yep, I posted that on Facebook already but I FINALLY got hired today for a permanent position (no more temp nonsense)- and it's with a property management company! One who managed an apartment I...

Re: Fry's Electronics is dying

Of course they aren't liquidating, there's hardly anything in their stores to sell now!

Will be morbidly curious to see if they at least get in some stock for the Christmas season. Bet they won't...

Re: Would you miss theaters if everything became streaming?

I already miss theaters- they've been on a decline the past 20 years. My favorite theater just got torn down this year after 5 years of sitting empty, and meanwhile they build new theaters with...

Re: Landlords on my case about my cleanliness!

Difference is there never were CED players with HDMI outputs. I don't own a single mono CED player either.

If I were evicted, I guess I would have no choice but to move everything into a bigger...

Re: Landlords on my case about my cleanliness!

They are going to Deseret Industries. If you think of it, let them have the remote for the JVC. Neither player has an HDMI output so they're obsolete in my book.

Re: Landlords on my case about my cleanliness!

Not gonna lie, I picked up 15 laserdiscs (average $1 each) but I considered each and every one and normally would've bought a ton more. They're all properly stored now anyways. Before I was bringing...

Re: Landlords on my case about my cleanliness!

My dad tends to overreact to things at first and then calm down later. It's a long story. Yes, we had the appointment, it was pretty uncomfortable as I basically had 3 people with similar opinions...

Re: Studios Releasing DVD But No Blu-ray?

She should have just gotten another 4x3 TV. Seems thrift stores no longer take those as donations though. I know at least some cable boxes have an "auto" setting for aspect ratio.

Re: Sacramento, birthplace of Tower Records, is losing its last media retailer

Just went by "The Cave" which is taking the place of Dimple's store in Folsom, to sell a few items (didn't buy anything.) It's in soft opening right now but might be cool. The guy there said Rasputin...

Re: Fry's Electronics is dying

Berkeley is still a day trip for me. I want to be able to grab things on the way home from work (I worked next to a Fry's for a while and got new releases on my lunch break.)

Re: Landlords on my case about my cleanliness!

They expressed interest in it, and a drive will do me some good- it's something I actually enjoy doing. And just maybe I might come back with absolutely nothing (there's a record store there that's...

Re: Landlords on my case about my cleanliness!

Someone in Fresno wants my 1-sided PAL laserdisc player (which also doesn't support analog sound on older discs, which is why I'm getting rid of it) and possibly some CEDs so will be making a 3-hour...

Re: Landlords on my case about my cleanliness!

Dumped some of it (including an unused theater seat), rest (CEDs and 2 laserdisc players) is in the car ready to go to the thrift store tomorrow. Put together a few more things here to go there also....
