Re: Has anyone here ever seen rare cuts of films?

I have the festival print of "Black Dynamite", featuring some alt/ext scenes.

Also have a copy of the "workprint" of Zombie's "Halloween", which is the best cut of that film. All the gore, none...

Re: Rambo: Last Blood (Grunberg, 2019) The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

The new 4K release has both cuts. I just watched the extended "John Rambo" cut and it's such a great film, wonderfully complementing the original. It should have been the last.

Re: Halloween Kills (2020) / Halloween Ends (2021) - D: Green

I have a few inside friends who told me the entire story for this one - there's def potential to be seen but the story kinda sounds like another sequel, too...

Oh, and the new mask is dope.

Re: Rambo: Last Blood (Grunberg, 2019) The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Just got out of this. The script was thinner than the characters, and much of Rambo's writing didn't feel true to his character, but it was alright if you wanna watch Sly fuck up a buncha dudes for...

Re: Texas Chainsaw Massacre Direct Sequel (P: Fede Alvarez)

Re: 3 From Hell (2019, D: Rob Zombie) -- sequel to The Devil's Rejects

I read an interview with Zombie today and he talks about how Sid is only in the opening of the film, due to the fact no insurance company would cover him for the film because of his health. So,...

Re: Jordan Peele or Ari Aster

Aster is 2/2 with me.

I think Peele is talented but hated Get Out and haven't seen Us.

Re: Midsommar (2019, D: Ari Aster) -- S: Pugh, Poulter, Reynor, Harper

Saw the DC this weekend at the new Drafthouse in DTLA and loved both the movie and the theater. Aster has a way with aesthetics and slowly building dread that is lost on so many fresh horror...

Re: Tool - Fear Inoculum - August 30, 2019 -- IT IS FINALLY HAPPENING

My friend somehow managed to score lower level seats for Staples center, so I agree to bite the bullet and pay the $175-ish for one. Ought to be a great show.

They released more copies of the...

Re: Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019, D: Michael Dougherty) -- The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

No, it doesn't. I don't get why "fans" keep making this argument. Go back and watch the Showa films and almost all have fun, breezy plots with decent characterization and solid monster action. The...

Re: One Cut of the Dead (2017 Japanese zombie movie you need to see)

I canceled my order and found a copy of the LE on eBay. I really want to see all of the bonus stuff, too, and I highly doubt any eventual USA release will be as loaded.

Re: One Cut of the Dead (2017 Japanese zombie movie you need to see)

Yep.

Edit: apparently, I ordered the single disc. Not sure how many bonus features it drops but still a great price.

Re: One Cut of the Dead (2017 Japanese zombie movie you need to see)

I just ordered the two-disc BD from Amazon UK. $21 shipped. This film is far too good not to own.

Encounter (2019) - S: Luke Hemsworth, Tom Atkins

I was fortunate enough to work on this smart little sci-fi film, written and directed by my good friend Paul J. Salamoff. The cast is solid - how can you ever go wrong with Tom Atkins? - and we got...

Re: Halloween Kills (2020) / Halloween Ends (2021) - D: Green

Why? I get the appeal to satisfy longtime series fans but bringing back old characters keeps the Halloween universe small and makes Michael less scary. Not that I know a thing about the plot, but all...

Re: Terminator: Dark Fate (2019, D: Miller) Schwarzenegger, Hamilton -- Cameron producing

I've spent some time with Linda and, yea, she is definitely trying to smoke all the cigarettes ever produced. It has absolutely destroyed her voice and looks.

Re: Filmmaker's Mode

I think it's a great idea, especially to combat the woefully inadequate default settings on most sets. Makes sense, with so many people opting for home entertainment these days, filmmakers should...

That feckless manboy would only work as Alfred in a comedy spoof.

Re: Halloween Kills (2020) / Halloween Ends (2021) - D: Green

Brian Andrews is a creepy weirdo these days; no way they'd bring him back.

Cool to see Castle is coming back for a couple hours' work again.
