Re: RIP: Richard Donner - Dead at 91

Agree with all your points.

At the 2015 WonderConI participated in a SUPERMAN reunion honoring him. He could not appear in person, but it was a memorable experience.

Re: Coming 2 America (2021, D: Craig Brewer) S: Eddie Murphy

It was okay. As a Prince fan, I loved the "Gett Off" scene. But the last 1/3 of the movie seemed to drag because it was so predictable. Needed more jokes, and less "drama."

Re: Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021, D: Snyder) -- HBO Max Exclusive

This is my school of thought, too. JUSTICE LEAGUE wasn't that great...can a 4-hour version really improve it that much? Will it really improve upon what we've seen in BvS? Refining a movie is one...

Re: Sexual Harassment/Assault & Abuse in Hollywood -- Discussion

Will Walter Hamada also play the race card in response to Fisher's post?

re: Sexual Harassment/Assault & Abuse in Hollywood -- Discussion

She wasn't a kid, she was an adult at age 18. No one said it was her fault. No one said she was asking for anything abusive...

But there comes a time when one makes poor choices and must be held...

Re: Movie franchise finales that always get you?

It has its faults, but the ending to GODFATHER III really packs a wallop. Al Pacino's silent scream and the flashbacks playing to "Intermezzo" from Cavalleria Rusticana are a truly emotional ending...

Re: Best (most enjoyable) concert experience

I also agree that Prince's LOVESEXY and MUSICOLOGY tours were among the top 5 concerts experiences. Just amazing. It's too bad there isn't more footage out there of his tours.

Re: What’s the last movie series marathon you watched?

Before Christmas, I made the whole family watch THE GODFATHER series (the individual movies, not THE COMPLETE EPIC, not the SAGA, not THE TRILOGY) back to back, and it reminded just how great these...

Re: Mario Puzo’s The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone Dec 8, 2020

Yes, that text. It was a trite observation, and the sentiment was obvious given the final shots. I don't know what Coppola was thinking.

Re: Mario Puzo’s The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone Dec 8, 2020

What really bothered me were the statements at the very end, right before the credits...I mean, WTF? It is the equivalent of Darth Vader yelling "Nooooo!" in the final (?) cut of RETURN OF THE JEDI...

re: RIP Tanya Roberts Dead at age 65 [UPDATE: Dead for the second time]

Hers was the first "girlie" poster I ever bought (I know, not exactly an eloquent tribute on my behalf).

Very sad for such an icon of the very early eighties.

Re: Tenet (2020, D: Nolan) -- S: Washington, Pattinson, Debicki -- The Spoiler-filled Reviews Thread

The film is cleverly made, but too needlessly complicated for my tastes. I would re-watch this movie to figure it out, but I don't care enough.

Re: Mario Puzo’s The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone Dec 8, 2020

There is no doubt it looks and sounds great. I wish all the Blu-rays of THE GODFATHER was at that level of quality.

But the changes made for this cut are baffling and almost arbitrary, especially...

Re: Mario Puzo’s The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone Dec 8, 2020

Flaws and all, I think THE GODFATHER III was a worthy finish to the original two movies.

The new cut, however, is worse. After viewing both movies back to back, it's safe to say that Coppola...

Re: I Can't Believe It's STILL Not on Blu ray (or 4K)!

Re: Wonder Woman 1984 (Jenkins, 2020) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

In a deleted scene which should be available on the DVD and Blu-ray, we find out that it was the wish of the rape victim to have non-consensual sex with a way hot brunette; thus, justifying Steve...

Re: Wonder Woman 3 (D: Jenkins) S: Gal Gadot

I LOL-ed at this. When I tried to make the same comment to others, they didn't get it. Idiots.

Or Wonder Woman getting rid of nuclear weapons. Either plot is fine.

Re: Wonder Woman 1984 (Jenkins, 2020) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

I understood the reference, but her appearance still is a non sequitur. Is she also fighting crime in America? Does she communicate with Diana Prince? Why show her at all if she is not even a...

Re: Wonder Woman 1984 (Jenkins, 2020) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

I agree. We should have seen at least one interaction between the old and new WONDER WOMAN, otherwise Lynda Carter's scene is like some weird afterthought. Maybe next time they can get Cathy Lee...

Re: Wonder Woman 1984 (Jenkins, 2020) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

AQUAMAN is worse than WONDER WOMAN, and SHAZAM is just about on the same level. SUICIDE SQUAD is slightly better.

Re: Wonder Woman 1984 (Jenkins, 2020) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

What a mess. Yet another failed DC film, and a true disappointment. I also agree with those who say that the actor who played Max Lord was just awful, and the plot was absolutely illogical and...
