Re: What movie would get you back into the theater? (Sep 2020 through 2021 or beyond)

Last time I've been to the theater was Spider-Man: Far From Home, so not really missing the theater experience. However, the one movie I would go back for is The Batman.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Ghost Ship (2002) - Another second viewing flick, wasn't a big fan the first time and basically thought the same now. There are some fun cheesy moments here and there but kind of like Thirteen Ghosts...

Re: Ash covers Oregon cities, wildfire smoke chokes US West

Been pretty lucky. Inside (I don't have AC either) hasn't been bad. I can smell some smoke but mostly been okay, cooler temps (because of the smoke) has helped. Today was the warmest, and brightest...

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002) — Still probably my favorite of the three, while it's pretty streamlined and far more action centric with little development compared with Fellowship of...

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) — Lost count how many times I've seen the "The Fellowship of the Ring" but still fantastic after all these years, epic on every level and just...

Re: Ash covers Oregon cities, wildfire smoke chokes US West

Not sure if winds shifted in my area, but visibility is basically zero here this morning. I can barely see the house across the street...

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Pitch Black (2000) — Wasn't a big fan the last time I saw this (2000/2001) and didn't think too much about it this go around, with the shoddy editing particularly early on (seemed to stabilize in the...

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

The Birds (1963) — Certainly has some creepy imagery and the acting was mostly passable, and I guess it works as a B-movie horror-thriller, but I never really found the birds all that terrifying....

Re: Ash covers Oregon cities, wildfire smoke chokes US West

Around here, supposedly we are looking at more favorable conditions coming up (lower winds, lower temps and higher humidity). I know the other day, I watched my humidity gauge drop from 24% to 18%...

Re: Ash covers Oregon cities, wildfire smoke chokes US West

Remember the scene from Wonder Woman where she walked into the village that was covered in poisonous air? That's what the outside looked like in my neck of the woods. Plus ash everywhere.

Edit:...

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Let It Snow (2020) — Not a big fan of survival thrillers but thought I'd give this a go, figuring based on the synopsis could be a throwback to the 1980s low budget horror-thriller. The set-up was...

Re: Holy Heat Wave Batman!, How hot is it where you are?

Things got real hazy here. Also, 5-min from me, they're in level 2 evacuation (was level 1 just this morning). But I'm pretty set in the suburbs (whereas it's sparse population there), but still...

Re: Holy Heat Wave Batman!, How hot is it where you are?

Smoke has moved in where I am, so had to turn off window fans. Should be fun tonight with no air flow (no AC).

Re: Holy Heat Wave Batman!, How hot is it where you are?

Guess I won't complain when it might reach 100 here in Oregon (where at least overnights will be in the low-to-mid 50s).

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

The Dead Zone (1983) — Pretty good paranormal thriller with a nice, and strangely normal, performance from Christopher Walken. Kept my attention throughout even if the finale felt a bit rushed and,...

Psycho (1960) — Amazingly, this is my first ever viewing, not sure why I waited so long, but finally got around to it. Great movie in every way from the performance by Anthony Perkins to the...

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Beetlejuice (1988) — Thin on story but the practical effects are good and Michael Keaton is a lot of fun even if he doesn't fully arrive on screen until the 40-minute mark. My feelings more or less...

Re: George A. Romero's DAWN OF THE DEAD -- 4K UHD (Theatrical, Cannes, Argento cuts) coming from Second S

Can't justify paying $110 (w/ shipping) for it when I'm already laying down $130 for F13 as well.

Wonder if there's any chance this will be released for NA?
