Re: Analogue Pocket - FPGA handheld (GB, GBC, GBA, GG, NGPC, Lynx, more) - 2020 - $199

I fully acknowledged that: "software vs. hardware". Their continual "no emulation" claim is strongly questionable when FPGA reproductions can be defined as hardware emulation. They are playing with...

Re: Analogue Pocket - FPGA handheld (GB, GBC, GBA, GG, NGPC, Lynx, more) - 2020 - $199

Thank you. I'm so tired of them spitting out this marketing point and everyone - "professional journalists" included - just lapping it up without question. It can be argued that FPGA reproductions...

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

The consensus seems to be that nothing was really fixed and there are just random "good" controllers out there. Anecdotally people cite good and bad dpads on all the different versions. I've come...

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

They don't have trouble, they simply don't care. Core gamers have been quite vocal about the Pro Controller for ~two years now, and nothing. No fix, not even an acknowledgment.

It's amazing how...

Re: Sega Genesis Mini coming 9/19/19 for $80

No, DF knows to account for that. There is a bit of extra input lag in this unit/software. Not huge, but now verified by more than one source. And the sound lag, while of varying importance to each...

Re: Sega Genesis Mini coming 9/19/19 for $80

Widespread reports online of Walmart putting them out early.

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

Yeah, I mean, nobody's been talking about picking this up for use as-is. Not even at the clearance prices.

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

That's cool. The box was visibly different from new and they didn't question it?

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

I see you bought at Target - pull up your "receipt" in your online account. You should see the serial number listed somewhere in there just like with mine.

But all good if you can take the opened...

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

If they tied your purchase to the receipt you should see that unit's serial number printed right on the receipt. On my buys they did do this. If you're out of luck, I wouldn't worry about returning...

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Can anyone confirm for me that Nintendo's digital policies are still completely borked? As in, if I buy a Switch Lite and want to get a full-fat TV Switch later, I will not be able to conveniently...

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Hori is generally an exception to that rule. BUT I logged in to post that they've disappointed a bit of late.

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

Was definitely worth it at ~26 with Cartwheel. But no doubt it's going to $19.99 or lower.

Re: E3 2019 thread....

Sure the big show is fun. But what does it really matter if our Sony news comes out there, or just over the Web like everything else?

Re: PS4: 0 days without a DDoS attack

I don't have anecdotal evidence against this, but technically these are not the characteristics of modern Li-ion batteries. You're laying out the ruleset for the older, NiCd type which is in almost...

Re: PS4: 0 days without a DDoS attack

Yes, among best-realistically-expected general specs, SSD is a game-changer. Something I never expected. This is pretty damn exciting and I hope MS doesn't slack in their response.

You can bet...

Re: PS4: 0 days without a DDoS attack

Sure it will.. they'll just run at 15 frames/sec, and the publishers will insist that's perfectly fine b/c chasing bullet points is always what's most important in gaming.

Re: Sega Genesis Mini coming 9/19/19 for $80

It's hard not to think they missed the boat not getting this out alongside the SNES Classic in '17. All the hype around classic systems is gone, the PS Classic pretty much ruined the idea, and Sega...

Re: NES Classic Edition (30 games; 60 bucks; 11/11/2016)

Definitely stick with Zelda. It's incredible. No reason it won't eventually grab you based on your experience with the series.

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

Yeah, I'm in at $25 or below.. just for controllers. Really sad that yours was defective. Kind of insult to injury after how bad they half-assed this thing in the first place.

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

Don't think that's all that new.. it's at least been a promo price off and on for a few months. Even so, there are still stores with lockboxes full of these things. I think it's pretty safe to wait...
