Re: Deadpool 3 (2024, D: Levy) - S: Reynolds, Jackman

This is the best - the Deadpool films are my favorite Marvel project outside the MCU and bringing them together is just great. And having Jackman back is perfection.

Re: Sexual Harassment/Assault & Abuse in Hollywood -- Discussion

I think it's possible to cast people who fit a certain level of attractiveness without talking about nailing them. Hollywood and our culture at large is always going to have a "standard" when it...

Re: Sexual Harassment/Assault & Abuse in Hollywood -- Discussion

I think the “locker room” is harder to find these days. I never found myself in a situation where anyone would be comfortable saying something like that out loud because that’s a fantastic way to get...

Re: Sexual Harassment/Assault & Abuse in Hollywood -- Discussion

I worked in the TV business where the attractiveness of both male and female talent was a factor for their jobs. In my 15+ year career, I never heard one person say whether the person was "fuckable"...

Re: Sexual Harassment/Assault & Abuse in Hollywood -- Discussion

I'm not shocked at all. But if stories like this lead to fewer comments about how "fuckable" people are on movie sets, I think that's a good thing.

Re: Sexual Harassment/Assault & Abuse in Hollywood -- Discussion

I've heard plenty of stories about movie sets where directors are collaborative with their actors. That sounds better than saying that a costume needs to be tighter or more revealing because the...

Re: Sexual Harassment/Assault & Abuse in Hollywood -- Discussion

Actors make all kinds of choices about their characters. Why shouldn’t costuming be one of them?

If Michael Bay wants his actresses in tight shorts so he can focus on their asses when introduced,...

re: Andor (S1E01, E02, E03) - "Kassa", “That Would Be Me”, “Reckoning” - 9/21/22

I mean, I guess. Still think it's very silly to make up a language for full scenes, complete with lots of dialogue and full conversations and then go "oh the audience will get it". At least that part...

Re: Reboot (Hulu) - S: Key, Greer, Reiser, Knoxville, Bloom, Yu, Worthy - premieres 9/20/22

This was great - I am a huge fan of Rachel Bloom but the whole cast is outstanding. Love how meta it was right from the beginning and everyone is really bringing it.

re: Andor (S1E01, E02, E03) - "Kassa", “That Would Be Me”, “Reckoning” - 9/21/22

I don’t need what they are doing spelled out. I would have liked to learn more about their society, their relationships and even their names.

re: Andor (S1E01, E02, E03) - "Kassa", “That Would Be Me”, “Reckoning” - 9/21/22

First two episodes were pretty boring. Just running errands around the town and not explaining to the audience what is going on. Third one was better because something actually happened. Andor was my...

Re: She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (S1E06) - "Just Jen" - 9/22/22

The problem I see is criticism of something like She-Hulk or the female-led Ghostbusters that a male-led show/move gets as a pass for the same kinds of issues. Then it becomes clear that something...

Re: She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (S1E06) - "Just Jen" - 9/22/22

Another great episode - I laughed out loud multiple times (Mr. Immortal was fun). The wedding stuff was suitably cringe - obviously she didn’t really have anything common with those people but was...

Re: Marvel’s Fantastic Four (2024 D: Shakman) - news, rumors, etc.

You think a major Marvel super hero should sound like that?

Re: The Flash (2023, D: Muschietti) - S: Miller, Keaton and Affleck

It's the results of reporters going out and investigating the stories, revealing new information.

Boy, I bet parents can't wait to buy their kids action figures of that guy!

Re: What happened to Bridget Fonda?

Just because they “sign up for it” doesn’t mean it can’t take a toll. And in her case, she completely left the business. So it is very easy for me to believe the constant dialogue about her...

Re: The Drew Barrymore Show --- Daytime Talk Show

Well of course - that's how these shows are financed. I've spent 15 years working on a local show that includes about 40% sponsored content. It's how the business works and we're pretty transparent...

re: She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (S1E05) - “Mean, Green, and Straight Poured into These Jeans” - 9/15/22

Even though we knew it was the title, my wife burst out laughing when they read off "mean, green and straight poured into these jeans". I think women can REALLY relate to this show.

re: She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (S1E05) - “Mean, Green, and Straight Poured into These Jeans” - 9/15/22

Another great episode - Tatiana Maslaney continues to be a goddam delight. Love the even more comedic side to the MCU.

Re: Josh Harris fired from Deadliest Catch

We constantly hear about people getting on reality shows who end up having shady shit in their background but still pass the "background check". This doesn't surprise me at all.

Re: Star Wars: Rogue Squadron (D: Jenkins)

That's too bad - love that book series and always thought it would have made a great movie/series. Even if this wasn't that story verbatim, the idea is still sound.
