Re: Anyone have any 2023 reading (or organizational/selling/etc) goals?

I do have a goal of reorganizing my collection. I have a pack of drawer boxes ready to go to help but I've got to make more room first.

My other goal is to read more comics. I'm starting to fear...

Re: The “Do You Own Any of These” Game - Round 2

A bit of trivia: Jackson Guice apparently used an album cover image of Amy Grant for the background of the Dr. Strange #15 cover (pictured above). She didn't appreciate being associated w/ mysticism...

Re: The “Do You Own Any of These” Game - Round 2

The Byrne graphic novel was released in 1985 as #18 in the Marvel Graphic Novel line. She-Hulk was a member of the Fantastic Four at this time, Which Byrne was also writing & drawing.

The series...

Re: The “Do You Own Any of These” Game - Round 2

I have the She-Hulk and the Doctor Strange. In the 70s, I was treated to 2 comics from the newsstand after school let out on Friday. I was getting Hulk back then but a quick check on the internet...

Re: The “Do You Own Any of These” Game - Round 1

I enjoyed Empire Lanes. I remember the 4 issue series from Northern lights (1st issue shown in your initial post),

Re: The “Do You Own Any of These” Game - Round 1

For me, there was not better time in comics than the 80s.

Here are some of my favorite titles from that period:

Maybe the first manga I held in my hands back in '82 or so:...

Re: The “Do You Own Any of These” Game - Round 1

I have all of them except for PJ Warlock. I'm a huge fan of independent comics and bought all of these way back in the day. I haven't read them in years and imagine they're all pretty dated but I'm...

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (not that one) » 10/28/22

I mostly enjoyed the campaign. I wasn't a fan of the Soap stealth mission or the Gaz road mission but the rest was good.

Re: Sexual Harassment/Assault & Abuse in Hollywood -- Discussion

We watched it in English freshman year of high school. Catholic high school. The teacher explicitly told us there was a nude scene at whatever the time was and assigned someone to fast-forward past...

Re: Avatar: The Way of Water (Cameron, 2022) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

I'm with you. I think spectacle must be the reason for the first film's success. I didn't see it theatrically and have never been able to sit through a full viewing at home. I always assumed it was...

Re: Kevin O'Neill (1953-2022)

I've loved O'Neill's work for year. He'll be missed.

I also learned that Carlos Pacheco passed away today after recently revealing that he had ALS. It's been a touch year for comics artists.

Re: Artist Kim Jung Gi has passed away

47 is way too young. He was an amazing talent. I've read feedback from professional artists who, upon seeing videos of him drawing huge, wall-sized images, instantly concluded that camera trickery...

Re: DC Comics - 2022 Thread

I dig them too. Though I wish they were printed at the Golden Age size. Or at least slightly bigger at the Silver Age dimensions.

I wouldn't mind cheaper newsprint paper either but DC's are still...

Re: Upcoming U.S. Anime Releases - 2022 Edition

I've got two episodes left and this has been great...though that may be the worst trailer I have ever seen.

The show is much more action-oriented and exciting than the trailer implies. And watch...

Re: Tom Palmer - R.I.P.

Palmer was fantastic. Both his full art and his inks were fantastic. His inking style wasn't suited to everything but his superhero work on Neal Adams and John Buscema was as top-notch as his moody...

Re: Sitcomics Binge Books (Stern, Frenz, Buscema, D. Henry)

I didn't notice these right away and think I have the 3 pictured above (though maybe I have a different Blue Baron?). Anyway, they're fun books and I certainly recommend them if you're a fan of Frenz...

Re: The Godfather Trilogy - 4K UHD
