Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (12/20/19, W/D: J.J. Abrams)

There would have to be. I mean, who was on that ship taking off from Jakku in Rey's Force vision? If it was her parents and Kylo was telling the truth, maybe they merely bought passage on the space...

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (12/20/19, W/D: J.J. Abrams)

I consider Ian McDiarmid one of the saving graces of the prequel trilogy, but having Palaptine return as the final boss (if that is indeed the case) would be weak as hell. It makes me angry to think...

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (12/20/19, W/D: J.J. Abrams)

I went back and skimmed through the Celebration panel and noticed the audience gave Kelly Marie Tran the loudest cheers out of all the actors. It moved her to tears. I wonder if Ahmed Best would have...

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (12/20/19, W/D: J.J. Abrams)

Speaking of the Death Star wreckage, that (per the art of TFA book) is a holdover they intended for Episode VII -- presumably from the original Lucas treatment that got rejected.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (12/20/19, W/D: J.J. Abrams)

My guess is Rey will adopt Skywalker as a title. As in the "The Knights of Skywalker" or something... eh. :boring:

I figure the Palpatine cackle at the end was just to make the fanboys lose their...

re: Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (12/20/19, W/D: J.J. Abrams)

Really? Other than being the color white, at least Leia's ANH and ESB costumes are different looks... and those last two (Bespin gown and Ewok village) aren't really similar at all.

Recycling the...

re: Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (12/20/19, W/D: J.J. Abrams)

It's real. The black woman with the cape (Naomi Ackie?) was in the location photos with Finn and Poe and they're all wearing the same costumes. I assume the female with the helmet is Kerri Russell's...

Re: Dune (2020, D: Villeneuve) - News, Rumors, Etc

Chang Chen is playing Dr. Yueh and I assume Stephen Henderson is Thufir Hawat. That leaves the actors for Feyd, Dr. Kynes, Alia, Shaddam IV and Princess Irulan still unannounced. I guess those last...

Re: What Are You Reading? (February 2019)

Just finished Heretics of Dune. I'm not very enthused about starting Chapterhouse: Dune (Frank Herbert's final Dune book written before his death), since it apparently ends with the story still very...

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread

I'd never had a complaint about the Amazon return process in nearly twenty years, but now I've had two issues in a row:

I returned a book with busted binding back in December. UPS tracking showed...

re: Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (12/20/19, W/D: J.J. Abrams)

I have a couple dozen of those Disney Store Elite figures. Got most of them for half off, but I wish I'd shown some restraint. I knew TFA was a blatant rehash, but it did rekindle that childhood...

I got to see a 3D double feature of CFTBL and It Came from Outer Space back in 2011. The red/blue glasses the arthouse theater handed out were leftover stock from Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare....

re: Dune (2020, D: Villeneuve) - News, Rumors, Etc

Yes, he'd make a perfect Idaho. Granted, Duncan isn't a significant part until you get to the sequels with his various gholas. Isaac is fine actor, but he looks too young for Duke Leto.

Re: Rent Live! (FOX) -- 1/27/19

Now the show is airing pre-recorded. Not surprising since Roger is the male lead and the set is all stairs and scaffolding. Still, it sounds like some of the actors are lip-syncing and that's just...
