Re: Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy vs. Nolan's Batman trilogy

The first two Spider-Man films were fantastic for when they came out, and they really advanced what a comic book movie could be, but they just dont hold up that well anymore.

I would say that...

Re: Space Force (Netflix) - from Greg Daniels & Steve Carell - premieres 5/29/20

Been watching one a night, and we have watched 5 so far. Not really seeing why it is getting so much hate. The tone is certainly different, but there have been a couple legitimate laughs each episode...

Re: Is Kevin Smith's career over?

The version of his career where he continued to grow as a film maker and build on the potential seen in Clerks, Chasing Amy, and Dogma died a long time ago.

Re: Space Force (Netflix) - from Greg Daniels & Steve Carell - premieres 5/29/20

Watched the first episode and found it pretty amusing. With the talent involved and only 30 minutes, I'll see it through to the end.

Re: Upload (Amazon) -- S: Robbie Amell -- Sci-Fi comedy from the creator of The Office -- Premieres 5/1/2

4 episodes in, enjoying it for the most part.

Nothing in particular stands out, the premise is interesting, acting is ok, kind of funny, but its a short east watch, which is sometimes good enough.

Re: Directors with three or more consecutive masterpieces

Fincher's run of The Game>Fight Club>Panic Room>Zodiac>Benjamin Button>Social Network is pretty damn strong.

Button stands out as one I didnt really enjoy, but it was pretty well regarded at...

Re: Jay & Silent Bob Reboot (2019, D: Kevin Smith)

This was pretty horrible, as expected. My 18 year old self may have found it funny, but like the rest of Smith's stuff, I outgrew it all at least 10 years ago.

I ended up fast forwarding to all...

Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Abrams, 2019) The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Just saw it....man, what a mess this trilogy is/was. Trying to write these on the fly with no idea where it is going just leaves an incoherent mess.

Re: Castle Rock (Hulu) -- Season 2 Thread -- premieres 10/23/19

This season, however, was great. Helped make Season 1 make a tad more sense and I just found the overall story...
