Re: 2019 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 2

Wow, this week may have been a gigantic killjoy to the entire season. The loss of Drew Brees for at least 7-8 games and the season-ending loss of Ben Roethlisberger could kibosh a lot of interest in...

Re: 2019 NFL Off-Season Thread

I am not so sure. Kaepernick's skills were already in decline by 2005 and no NFL: team wants to deal with the massive public-relations blowback of signing him.

Re: 2019 NBA Playoffs Thread

This Raptors team reminds of of the 2003-2004 Detroit Pistons, except with more experienced players and more length. That's how they were able to overcome the "Death" lineup of the Warriors.

Re: 2019 NBA Playoffs Thread

I'll say this though: the Bucks are going to give the Warriors problems because of the Bucks' size of the players--and they aren't plodding, either.

Re: 2019 MLB March-April Thread

The Dodgers look awesome now, but I do worry about the quality of pitching as the summer comes to an end. Twice they lost World Series because their pitching faltered at the worst time possible.

Re: 2018-2019 NBA Regular Season Thread

About time. The Celtics ARE capable of games like this if they just stop the chemistry issues that hurt the team recently.

Re: 2018-2019 NBA Regular Season Thread

Personally, t think Tyrron Lue, LeBron's recent coach at Cleveland, could be coming to the Lakers next season.

re: Marvel / Netflix projects discussion thread - news, rumors, etc.

Why did Netflix do this? Because Disney, who owns Marvel Entertainment outright, wants to take as much of the production of its properties in-house. I wouldn't be surprised if those canceled Netflix...

Re: 2018 NFL Playoffs - Super Bowl LIII - February 3rd, 2019

Wow, that was a snoozer of a game. :boring: -rolleyes- The Rams' offense was pretty much ineffective most of the game.

Indeed, the commercials were actually more exciting than the game itself....

Re: 2018 NFL Playoffs - Super Bowl LIII - February 3rd, 2019

Like I said earlier, I think the game will be Rams 30, Patriots 27--on the condition that Todd Gurley and C. J. Anderson both have good games running the ball. They need to keep Brady off the field...

Re: 2018 NFL Playoffs - Super Bowl LIII - February 3rd, 2019

I still think there is a chance within the next 5-10 years we may see the Super Bowl moved to a 7 pm (Eastern) Saturday night start. We could see even HIGHER ratings (nobody has to worry about going...

Re: 2018-2019 NBA Regular Season Thread

I'm surprised nobody talked about last night's Warriors at Celtics game. It was a really good game, which unfortunately showed that the chemistry on the Celtics is not quite there to close a...

Re: 2018 NFL Playoffs - Super Bowl LIII - February 3rd, 2019

A new factor: will they open the roof at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Super Bowl Sunday? Weather.com long range forecast calls for PM showers in Atlanta, GA area, and that means the roof will...

The Jets are expected to let Todd Bowles go according to THIS (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001004916/article/todd-bowles-expected-to-be-fired-by-jets-after-game) story from the NFL Network.

Re: 2018 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 17

Isn't this the only week all year where both CBS and FOX have doubleheaders on a national basis for NFL games? http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/confused/confused0013.gif

Re: Stan Lee Turns 95 (Update: Dead - RIP)

In the end, what Stan Lee said in this cameo from Spider-Man 3 sums up his life best--and should be his epitaph:

Re: Stan Lee Turns 95 (Update: Dead - RIP)

Stanley Martin Lieber, better known as Stan Lee, was truly one of the last living links to the Golden Age of American comic books. Rest in peace and Excelsior!.

Re: 2018 College Football Week 10.

So unless there is a major upset, we're going to end up with Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame and Michigan in the playoff.

Re: The Apple Thread

I just bought a new 10.5" iPad Pro (256 GB WiFi Silver) for US$730 from Amazon. And that's before the $200 gift certificate I got from my brother for my birthday a few months ago.

When I saw the...

Re: 2018 College Football Week 10.

Let's face it: there are only four really viable teams that can win the championship: Alabama, Clemson and maybe Michigan and Notre Dame.

Re: The Apple Thread

The prices of new iPad Pros are just silly. -rolleyes- I'd rather get the 256 GB 10.5-inch iPad Pro, even though it's still $799.
