Re: The Adventures of Tintin (D: Spielberg, 2011): The Reviews Thread

I'd easily rate this as up...

I read William Harrison's DVD review of Hanna at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=51135 and...

Excellent...

Re: Does the Wire take a while to get going?

I couldn't get into The Shield.

It took me just a few episodes to really get into The Wire.
And it gets better as the series develops over the seasons.

I would easily rate The Wire as the...

Re: Weeds -- Season Finale -- "Theoretical Love Is Not Dead" -- 11/15/10

and? Where to now?

I really does feel like the series finale.
But they have it billed as the season finale. But I can't see where they can possibly go with this now.

The main characters have...

Re: Favorite all-time song?

Van Der Graaf - Cat's Eye / Yellow Fever (running)

This is off their Quiet Zone / Pleasure Dome album, which is my choice as my desert island disc. The one album I simply will never tire of.

Re: Any Shriekback fans?

My Spine Is The Bassline .. is the song that caught me from the start.

That they had the bass-player from Gang Of Four also meant I just had to check Shriekback out.
imho, the Gang Of Four were...

Re: Impressive Moments in Lackluster Movies

I didn't say the camera work was careless. I said "deliberately careless". Meaning, I know that it was intended for effect. I just hate it.

Hand-held camera work does NOT look like...

Re: Blockbusters Stock Nosedives - Bankruptcy Possible

I despise Blockbuster for their pre-Netflix habit of charging $5 late fee per day. Just a few hours late on the day .. you know, stuff happens, and wham! $5 per disc.

And then Netflix started,...
