Re: The Masked Singer (FOX) — Season 3 Thread — Premiere 02/02/2020

TURTLE WAS ROBBED!

I mean, not a huge deal, no real prizes associated with this, but Turtle was consistently the best throughout the season, INCLUDING the finale. Maybe he used "Fix You" too...

Re: The Masked Singer (FOX) — Season 3 Thread — Premiere 02/02/2020

Possible, but there's not been anyone that has gone home that I've been "upset" about. Yeah, maybe they went home 1 or 2 episodes before when I thought they would, but none were ones that I thought...

Re: Westworld (S3E07) -- “Passed Pawn” -- 4/26/20

7 episodes in, and i'm just not that interested in Caleb. As someone said above, you could deduce the show was going to the "Caleb killed his friend" angle in the earlier flashbacks. overall, I...

Re: The Outsider (HBO) - based on the Stephen King novel - S: Mendelsohn, Bateman - premieres 1/12/20

One thing i kept expecting to be addressed, but never materialized:

Who was the "helper" during the time that El Cuco was transforming into Terry Maitland? We saw that Jack was the helper for...

Re: The New Mutants (2020, D: Josh Boone) S: Taylor-Joy, Williams, Heaton, Braga

Disney also delayed Mulan, and possibly Black Widow is next. So related to the pandemic, I assume, not the movie itself.

Re: The Outsider (HBO) - based on the Stephen King novel - S: Mendelsohn, Bateman - premieres 1/12/20

So this series started as an excellent crime thriller. And then took the turn to the supernatural (which, yes, should have seen coming based on the author). It did take about 2 episodes of...

Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Abrams, 2019) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Really surprised, based on Rey's use of a staff, that she never wielded a dual-bladed saber. The concept art above has it, looks pretty cool (and would actually make sense in regard to the...

Re: The New Mutants (2020, D: Josh Boone) S: Taylor-Joy, Williams, Heaton, Braga

I'm getting more on board. Hopefully what is being said is true, and it actually is a decent movie once they stuck with what the director wanted.

I actually really like the casting, especially...

Re: Dora and the Lost City of Gold (2019, D: Bobin) S: Moner, Peña, Longoria

Saw this the last night with the kids, and I have the exact same reaction. Some decent jokes, both in the jungle and high school scenes (although Derbez just is painfully unfunny to me). Some...

Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Abrams, 2019) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Honestly - this might have been my favorite moment of the entire film. Just so well done - the line and the delivery from Driver/Ford. I LOVE that they didn't have Ben actually say "I Love you" -...

Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 7: The Reckoning (S1E7) - 12/18/19

Definitely a much better episode than the last 2-3. I think we all know where the next episode is heading in some capacity regarding IG-11. Hopefully it turns out well.

Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 6: The Prisoner (S1E6) - 12/13/19

I'm with you. The first half (meeting the team, infiltrating the ship) was incredibly cheesy and clichéd.

It got better after the double-cross, when he was hunting them down.

Re: Watchmen (HBO) -- Season 1 Thread -- Premieres 10/20/19

Falling through the water could also mean he never actually transferred anything into the egg (and he's really gone for good)

Re: Watchmen (HBO) -- Season 1 Thread -- Premieres 10/20/19

I'd have preferred that it end with her stepping out, then immediately falling into the water.

Re: Watchmen (HBO) -- Season 1 Thread -- Premieres 10/20/19

Yeah all the time stuff is a doozy. Like, why did he even approach Angela in the bar? Because he knew he would fall in love with her 10+ years in the future when she fought on his behalf (so he...

Re: Watchmen (HBO) -- Season 1 Thread -- Premieres 10/20/19

Yeah that's why in my original comment, I said was on the fence. I both liked it and was distracted by it. The shots of his necktie, hands, back of head, etc. while at the table didn't bother me. ...

Re: Watchmen (HBO) -- Season 1 Thread -- Premieres 10/20/19

Right - I knew it would/should be a different actor (Angela comments about him still having Cal's face upon returning, i caught that). I guess maybe they just didn't want to hire one or didn't want...

Re: Watchmen (HBO) -- Season 1 Thread -- Premieres 10/20/19

Loved this episode - the time paradoxes (especially around her planting the idea in her grandfather's head) were interesting and well done.

It was a bit distracting how they didn't show...

Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 5: The Gunslinger (S1E5) - 12/6/19

So I really didn't want to resurrect the HDR conversation, but I have to... I hadn't really noticed any issues on the episodes before this one, but on this one, the desert scenes looked awful. The...

Re: Frozen 2 (Buck, Lee 2019) - Review Thread (spoilers)

Definitely walked away from the theater feeling meh. It was ok. The first movie had one truly great moment (the Hans twist), an excellent overall message (true love can come from something other than...
