Re: Great News (NBC) -- S: Briga Heelan, EP: Tina Fey

US shows being based on the premise of shows from elsewhere has been going on since at least 1970.

Re: Multi season shows with one good season?

Season 2 was worth seeing, but it was a big decline from the first one. I think Sorkin had other priorities.

Re: Bones (FOX) - 12th and Final Season Thread - premieres 1/3/17

Emily has no projects after Bones according to imdb. Also, for someone who has been around as long as she has, she has surprisingly few credits.

Re: Multi season shows with one good season?

Lost had several good seasons. Homeland recovered in season 4.

The Sorkin show Sports Night had an excellent season 1 and then went downhill in the next season.

Re: Great News (NBC) -- S: Briga Heelan, EP: Tina Fey

Briga was really good on Ground Floor. I like the relationship with the mother, though they need to tone it down. Other than the Bill O'Reilly like anchor, everyone else is dull.

Re: RIP Father Mulcahy [William Christopher]

He played the character very well. RIP William Christopher. By the way, Rene Auberjonois (Star Trek DS9, Benson, Boston Legal) played the character in the movie.

Re: Bones (FOX) - 12th and Final Season Thread - premieres 1/3/17

Another kidnapping? And Zach again. Show is old.

Re: SNL (S42E04) -- 10/22/16 -- H: Tom Hanks -- MG: Lady Gaga

Black Jeopardy was very good and very funny. The cold open was also good.

The West Wing. Season 6 finale. Jimmy Smits as Matt Santos gives the speech that makes him the nominee of the Democratic Party.

Re: Conviction (ABC) -- S: Hayley Atwell -- Season 1 Thread -- Premieres 10/3/16

Thanks. They rushed the explanation of it, so I was not sure. Pacing was a general problem with the show

Re: Wicked City (ABC) - Series Thread - premieres 10/27/15

Has anyone watched all 8? Is it worth it?

Re: The West Wing or er?

Season 5 of WW was weaker than the Sorkin ones, but the last two seasons with Alan Alda and Jimmy Smits were really good.

Re: Were there any mind blowingly good Season Finales ?

Six Feet Under season 4 Untitled. We get a dramatic resolution to the "what happened to Lisa?" story as well as a variety of more subtle events at Claire's art show. But the best part is at the end...

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story (FX) -- Series Thread -- 2/2/16

I agree with you. It was impressive on several levels from the acting to the writing to setting the overall mood.

Re: Glen A. Larson, creator of Battlestar Galactica, Knight Rider, dies at 77

He was a major player. I think Quincy in particular was unusual for the times.

Re: Mad Men -- Mid-Season Finale -- "Waterloo" -- 5/25/14

I didn't recognize Kellie Martin either.

This episode felt like a season finale, or even a show finale.

Re: Mad Men -- "A Day's Work" -- 4/20/14

I didn't see them acting out of character. I like Peggy, but she was showing off her petty side.

Re: Mad Men -- "Field Trip" -- 4/27/14

Harry and Pete are always ahead of the curve, and Don is always dismissive.
