Re: Is there one show that is credited as the first “binge” watching show?

Well, when they first came available, I bought all the seasons of Start Trek:TNG and my wife and I watched from beginning to end, two or three episodes a night. Not sure if it counts as "binge"...

Re: The Orville (S2E14) -- Season Finale -- "The Road Not Taken" -- 4/25/19

I hate to try to explain humor, but I believe the term "ghosting" was used intentionally. As a joke. As a wink-wink-nod to the audience, a kind of breaking the fourth wall to let us know that this...

Re: Warrior (Cinemax) -- From the creator of Banshee and Justin Lin -- Premieres 4/5/19

Martial arts and naked women, what's not to like. Plus, the repression of Asians really gets your emotions running high on revenge.

Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

Thanks. However, "ships in 1 to 3 weeks" at Amazon. I could get it immediately from Best Buy.

Re: The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley -- HBO documentary -- D: Alex Gibney

I admit I didn't know anything about this case before I watched the documentary. I found it fascinating. I've been in the startup world before and I recognize the "fake it until you make it"...

re: The Orville (S2E08) -- "Identity, Parts 1 & 2" -- 2/21 & 2/28/19

Does anyone else suspect that a computer virus will be used to subdue the Borg, er, Kaylons?

Re: Manifest (NBC) -- From Producer Robert Zemeckis -- Premieres 9/24/18

I keep watching, but they need to answer some questions instead of bringing up more. I'm coming to suspect that the show-runners don't have a clue what the answers are. And the season finale didn't...

re: The Orville (S2E07) -- "Deflectors" -- 2/14/19

I've been a critic of at least one other episode of this show, but I liked this one. Yes, it reminds me of a Star Trek episode, but to me, that's good. No, it wasn't as funny as some, but I like it...

Re: 4K / Ultra HD Blu-ray: Discounts and deals

I noticed that at least one reviewer on Amazon claimed that the 4K transfer was sub-par. I don't have the set myself, but it may be worth investigating further.

Re: The Orville (S2E06) -- "A Happy Refrain" -- 1/31/19

As the old saying goes, you never want to know how they make the sausage.

Re: The Orville (S2E05) -- "All the World Is Birthday Cake" -- 01/24/2019

In the Star Trek universe, you understand that "alien-ness" means pointy ears on a human figure, or ridges on the forehead, or different shades of color on the skin of an otherwise human figure. It...

Re: The Orville (S2E05) -- "All the World Is Birthday Cake" -- 01/24/2019

Then it should have been an easy thing to explain that Kelly's "birthday" was in relation to her own planet's year length, and that when using Regor 2's year, it wasn't actually her birthday at all. ...

Re: The Orville (S2E05) -- "All the World Is Birthday Cake" -- 01/24/2019

Also stupid for the fact that the stars look different at different places in the universe, and more importantly, planets revolve around their suns at different rates, so a year on one planet is not...

Re: Dirty John (Bravo) -- Limited Series -- S: Eric Bana, Connie Britton -- 11/25/18

I think that's the main flaw of the series. Connie Britton tries very hard to play dumb, but it just looks like she's playing dumb, and it's annoying. Otherwise, I think the series was great. Eric...

Good Trouble (FreeForm) -- spin-off of The Fosters

I know this probably isn't the kind of show that most readers of this forum like, but I thought it had possibilities because it was a spin-off of The Fosters, a sensitive teen show that seemed to...

Re: Which multi-season (3 or >) shows have you’ve seen more than once?

Star Trek OS (many times)
Star Trek TNG
Babylon 5
Avengers (Emma Peel episodes)
West Wing
Boston Legal

And then there's my wife, who's watched all things NCIS multiple, multiple times.

Re: Last Show You Binged?

Over Christmas, Decades ran a marathon of Family (1976-1980) and I've been working my way through them, having not seen the show since it originally ran. It was one of my favorites then, and it...

Re: Timeless -- Series Finale -- "The Miracle of Christmas, Part I & II" -- 12/20/18

IMO, the show always played fast and loose with time travel "rules," and never really took advantage of things it could have, like arriving in the past a bit before Rittenhouse did, instead of after....

Re: Looking for comedy show recommedations

I'm really fond of Younger, now in its fifth season. Sutton Foster is a favorite of mine. She plays a 40-something who poses as a 20-something to get a job in the publishing industry. (TVLAND)

Re: What shows have you STOPPED watching?

Gave up on Reverie after a couple of episodes. Just another far-fetched procedural.

Just about ready to give up on HBO's Succession. Just a bunch of idiots. Amazing to think that Kieran Culkin...
