Re: Community (Yahoo Screen) - Season 6 Discussion Thread - premieres 3/17/15

They didn't pick that one, I assume, because it involves a lot of Pierce.

Re: Survivor Season 40 Winners at War -- premieres 2/12/20

There's usually 3-4 extra scenes that are posted on social media after an episode that didn't make the final cut.

Re: Devs (c: Alex Garland, s: Mizuno, Offerman) (FX on Hulu) -- 3/5/20

I've really been enjoying it more than I expected. I just don't understand why Sonoya Mizuno is playing Lily so monumentally uninteresting. She has no personality whatsoever, and every scene she's in...

Re: Most attractive person on TV?

A reminder this weekend that Evan Rachel Wood isn't getting any less attractive. I looked for a screenshot of her in the short skirt she was in, couldn't find one...but it was quite nice.

Re: Watching "Babylon 5" For the First Time--It Get's Better, Right?

You haven't seen how some of those earlier episodes matter later on, too. I don't want to delve too close to spoilers but, trust me, a couple of them will probably be on your rewatch list when you...

Re: 'The Last of Us' Series in the Works at HBO From 'Chernobyl' Creator

I didn't play the game, but I watched the cutscenes as a 6 hour movie over the space of a week a few years back. I am so excited for this, and for HBO to do it and have the guy from "Chernobyl" in...

Re: Watching "Babylon 5" For the First Time--It Get's Better, Right?

I'll add one more yes. Season 1 is kind of a slog (except for a few good episodes such as "Signs and Portents," "Babylon Squared" and "Chrysalis") but stick with it. Season 2 starts picking things...

Re: Star Trek: Picard - Nepenthe (S1E7) - 3/5/20

I thought the daughter did a great job. She and her brother invented a whole set of languages to amuse themselves (I did the same thing with friends as a teen) and she obviously enjoyed the...

Re: Have you ever been on a message board/website that had a celebrity posting on it?

Joe Straczynski, while not a director, created and wrote most of Babylon 5 and was regularly interacting with fans online as far back as 1991 or so. I think he was probably the first Hollywood pro...

Re: What was your very first post on these forums?

I can't go back further than 2011, which isn't anywhere near my first post.

Re: Star Trek: Picard - Stardust City Rag (S1E5) - 2/20/20

I went to a big Con in NYC middle of season 2 of TNG. Shatner was the guest and he was not complimentary towards TNG. And the audience was on his side. They didn't like the new series, thought it...

Re: What is considered an "old timer" 'round here?

My morning routine used to involve getting to work, checking this site, then using the info here at 800.com, reel.com and all the various rebates and savings sites.

That was a damn long time ago.

Re: Survivor Season 40 Winners at War -- premieres 2/12/20

She's a good person to take into the merge. I would assume they don't target her before that.

Re: Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist (NBC) S: Jane Levy, Mary Steenburgen, Skylar Astin, Lauren Graham

I watched episode 2 last night with the wife. It's still cute, but the musical sequences are far less interesting to me than the other stuff (and I'm a theatre guy, so musical theatre stuff doesn't...

Re: Star Trek: Picard - Absolute Candor (S1E4) - 2/13/20

Putting himself in a bad situation so the kid could save him was the *entire point* of it. The nun's order would only pledge itself to hopeless causes. By provoking the Romulans he was gambling the...

Re: Star Trek: Picard - Remembrance (S1E1) - 1/23/20

I assume you're using these as shorthand, but I'm sure you realize that the idea of debating the sentience of artificial life goes back in print SF more than a century. Long before Blade Runner. Long...

Re: Tip for visiting Disney World?

<sarcasm>
Yeah, the Pulitzer Prize-winning lifelong Star Trek fan running the show sure scares me.

Re: Horse Girl (2020, D: Baena) S: Alison Brie -- Netflix

These types of films never interest me, but I'm a big fan of Brie so I will definitely give this a look.

Re: Future Marvel Cinematic Universe shows on Disney+ Discussion Thread - news, rumors, etc.

A guy on Twitter went through the last year on WGTC and found that of the last 400 Marvel rumors they posted, less than 2% ended up being true that hadn't already been reported front other reliable...

Re: The Good Place (NBC): The Fourth and Final Season -- premieres 9/26/19

There's also the theory we're not seeing our regular Good Janet the last couple episodes.
