Re: The last Blu-ray you bought (Round 3)

The last Blu-rays I bought were also my first! I finally migrated with 2001:A Space Odyssey, Dirty Dancing (for my wife), Final Fantasy Advent Children Complete, and Predator (all used, all for free...

Re: JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON TWO EARTHS - Spring 2010

Honestly, they're all pretty awful as well. At least Hulk vs. Wolverine was fun (mostly due to Deadpool). I hear Planet Hulk is kind of cool, so maybe things are picking up.

Re: May 2010 Criterions Announced

I'm pretty sure that when Criterion announces a "New, restored high-definition digital transfer", it's going to be anamorphic. Just a hunch.

Re: JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON TWO EARTHS - Spring 2010

New Frontier = terrible, Green Lantern = totally by the numbers, spirals into a nonstop punch and blast-fest for what seems like forever at the end, Wonder Woman = okay, but not worth re-watching...

Re: Differences between DVD/Blu-ray Cover Art and Theatrical Movie Posters.

Studios figure that head collages of the main stars will sell more units in-store than a concept-based poster image.

Re: MTV's The Maxx and The Head coming out on Amazon DVD-R

Re: MTV's The Maxx and The Head coming out on Amazon DVD-R

That's kind of weird about the "one-time exception" thing. You've pissed them off somehow, watch your back!

Re: Definitive List of DVD's with SteelBook™ cases. (Part IV)

Then a dvd owner might accidentally buy the blu-ray version, and vice versa?

Re: Missing inserts?

Maybe you should have made you point better then--all you said was that you were pissed trailers weren't included and damn well should be (which I agree with). I simply responded that this was...

Re: Missing inserts?

I"m sure they don't. As has been mentioned a billion times, stuidos don't really bother with inserts anymore, let alone booklets. You want a booklet, buy something from Criterion.

Yeah um, this...

Re: Missing inserts?

Inserts have gone the way of the dodo. Later runs of dvds easily might have no inserts the back labels claim should be there. It's a whole lot easier to just stop printing the insert/book than...

Re: MTV's The Maxx and The Head coming out on Amazon DVD-R

So things aren't spoiled here, the wikipedia page for The Maxx (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Maxx) has a full summary of the comic plotline.

Not a new thing, but I enjoy how there only appears to be one way to sell a pirate-themed movie these days.

Re: Black to clear cases?

Try CustomCovers. Also, R1 is probably the largest resource of well-designed covers on the net, and the money keeps the site going.

Re: MTV's The Maxx and The Head coming out on Amazon DVD-R

I get what you're saying, but the picture quality will be the same, the dvd player will read them the same, and sorry, but dvd-rs are still dvds (format standard and all). Maybe the disc label won't...

Re: MTV's The Maxx and The Head coming out on Amazon DVD-R

You can watch all 13 episodes in pretty high quality here for free on MTV's site. (http://www.mtv.com/shows/the_maxx/video.jhtml)

Re: MTV's The Maxx and The Head coming out on Amazon DVD-R

Re: MTV's The Maxx and The Head coming out on Amazon DVD-R

What droidguy said, where are you getting your numbers? Twice as much? So you're saying it'd cost $9 otherwise? And since both of these releases are being sold for less than $35, I would hope you...
