Re: Ford at Fox Collection: Request for someone who owns it

Shannon Nutt has it close. It takes up 20"X20"X5" of shelf-space and weighs in at ~20 lbs. It's a beautiful set but the way that they package the discs in it can lead to getting some with...

So I went ahead and ordered The Shawshank Redemption (Blu-ray Book Packaging) for $7.99 (Thanks Lizard!) through Amazon's wearhouse sales and the package arrives today but instead of what I was...

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

That's the one that was at my Big Lots store. Very nice set and well worth the $5.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Congratulations. Wished my clerk had been that thoughtful but in the scheme of things I would have had to spend about the $8 I would have saved in gas to go to another B&N and still not had any...

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

It should be before the discount based on the language on the coupon but I had a manager at B&N tell me that it was after the discount when I tried to use it today to buy the Samurai Trilogy on...

re: Horror Movie Empire shenanigans (was: Blue Underground BDs $10 each)

Saying that they have the store open because they are "only trying to make the money back that was stolen from you" is always the best way to smooth over an angry mob and would sure make anyone who...

re: Horror Movie Empire shenanigans (was: Blue Underground BDs $10 each)

"From this day forward, we will not pocket *a dime* from Horror Movie Empire sales until everyone is reimbursed for their order."

I guess that I won't be getting my DVDs and gift certificate for...

re: Horror Movie Empire shenanigans (was: Blue Underground BDs $10 each)

Given how long and how much prodding on my part it took to get a reponse, I had no expectation of getting anything soon. Hence my dilemma but I appreciate your point.

re: Horror Movie Empire shenanigans (was: Blue Underground BDs $10 each)

Well after numerous email attempts to contact Demetrios and/or HorrorMovieEmpire.com, I found this today in of all places the SPAM folder of my email:

"We apologize for the delay in both getting...

re: Horror Movie Empire shenanigans (was: Blue Underground BDs $10 each)

I guess "mostly resolved" is a matter of perspective. Demetrios got to keep most of our money and most of us got nothing in return. So from his perspective, it's been mostly resolved to his...

Re: Olive Films to Release Betty Boop (important caveat)

re: Horror Movie Empire shenanigans (was: Blue Underground BDs $10 each)

I guess that he missed the tweet from the Emperor (aka Demetrios) where he said that if he hadn't delivered your order in advance of Horrorhound Weekend, you'd get both the movies that you had...

Re: Criterion Last Temptation of Christ (pre-order) $20 @ Deep discount

Hmmm..just got shipping notice for this from DeepDiscount. Seems early for them to be shipping since the release date isn't until March 13th but I won't complain if it shows up before the release...

re: Horror Movie Empire shenanigans (was: Blue Underground BDs $10 each)

No need to feel guilty but you may want to go out and buy a lottery ticket since you seem to be on a lucky streak. Besides the odds of wiinning the lottery are much better than those for most of us...

re: Horror Movie Empire shenanigans (was: Blue Underground BDs $10 each)

I've been patient with them too and as much as I want the titles that I ordered rather than a refund, I don't think that I have a say in what happens. So I fully expect to see a refund of my money...

re: Amazon Blu-ray Discounts and Deals Thread #27

This message gets used for a number of issues but seems to crop up most frequently when they have a lot of returns of an item damaged during shipping.
