Re: A.P. Bio (NBC) -- S: Glenn Howerton, Patton Oswalt

I was bummed that Lynette (Elizabeth Alderfer) left the show, though. She and Howerton had pretty good chemistry.

Re: A.P. Bio (NBC) -- S: Glenn Howerton, Patton Oswalt

Just finished season 4 - this ensemble cast has really grown with each season (the students especially), but there really are no weak links in the cast (if i HAD to choose one, it would likely be...

Re: Marvel Studios What If...? (Disney +) -- Premieres 8/11/21

This was a neat idea, and again, animation was great. But man did it have scenes that just went on and on. Particularly the one where he was absorbing power. Did we really need to see him...

Re: Marvel Studios What If...? (Disney +) -- Premieres 8/11/21

I liked it enough to keep watching the rest. The animation is great - the story for this first one was a bit in the boring side, but overall I liked it.

It was a bit weird that the decision they...

Re: The Suicide Squad (2021, W/D: James Gunn) -- S: Robbie, Elba, Cena, Davis -- The Spoiler Reviews Thre

I do like Elba more than Manganiello, though (who I assume they would have used... but just an assumption).

Re: The Suicide Squad (2021, W/D: James Gunn) -- S: Robbie, Elba, Cena, Davis -- The Spoiler Reviews Thre

The character arc/skillset/actions of Bloodsport are so similar to Deadshot, it's like it's the same character. So if they had recast smith with Elba, then yes, definite reboot. But I think that...

Re: The Suicide Squad (2021, W/D: James Gunn) -- S: Robbie, Elba, Cena, Davis -- The Spoiler Reviews Thre

The interaction between Harley and Capt Boomerang indicates it is a sequel (although the movie of course isn't titled as such). They recognize each other, he asks what she did to get back into...

Re: Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021, D: Malcolm D. Lee, P: Coogler) -- S: LeBron James

Once you get past the initial lebron lovefest in the opening credits and setup, the movie settles into mildly entertaining territory once he's in the "serververse". Yes, it is very "Ready Player...

Re: Loki (S1E06) -- Season Finale -- "For All Time. Always." -- 7/14/2021

Agree on Majors. I actually liked his quirkiness and delivery here - made the mountain of exposition more entertaining (as compared to something like Matrix Reloaded)

Re: Sweet Tooth (Netflix) -- Based on the DC/Vertigo Comic -- EP: Robert Downey Jr. & Susan Downey -- 6/4

Just finished this today - really enjoyed it. Good pace, good characters/casting (which does look pretty different from the comics in terms of age and diversity) and acting (which is always a gamble...

Re: Disney's Raya and the Last Dragon (2021) S: Kelly Marie Tran, Awkwafina

Could have also gone with: "There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled...

Re: Disney's Raya and the Last Dragon (2021) S: Kelly Marie Tran, Awkwafina

Watched this on Disney+ last night. Overall, I liked it. Animation was stellar - just beautiful. Appreciated the overall message of trust.

I could have done without the Baby, honestly. And...

Re: Tenet (2020, D: Nolan) -- S: Washington, Pattinson, Debicki -- The Spoiler-filled Reviews Thread

Maybe he didn't want to call extra attention to himself and actually ran backwards everywhere as he was inverted, making him appear to be moving forward for normal people ;)

Re: Tenet (2020, D: Nolan) -- S: Washington, Pattinson, Debicki -- The Spoiler-filled Reviews Thread

Finally got around to watching this. Overall, I really enjoyed it. The set pieces were cool, the temporal "effects"/scenes were well done.

I did like the cast for the most part - but didn't like...

Re: The Nevers (HBO) -- created by Joss Whedon -- premieres 4/11/21

Ha, exactly my reaction! I thought it was an HBO Max bug. I loaded the show 3 different times, and then fast forwarded a bit (not to watch content, but just to see if it switched to the Victorian...

Re: Army of the Dead (5/21/2021, D: Zack Snyder) - Netflix

Sounds like you and pitch meeting guy agreed on the depth of field. You have more in common than you think!

I do agree on the depth of field "choice" being the wrong one. I wonder if they...

Re: Army of the Dead (5/21/2021, D: Zack Snyder) - Netflix

People better not be talking ill of pitch meeting guy! I'll fight any one of ya!

The saw never being used again by Hardwick, and apparently the slowest helicopter in existence - both stuck out...

Re: The Mitchells vs. The Machines (2021, D: Rianda, P: Lord/Miller) - V: Jacobson, Rudolph, McBride

Really enjoyed this one. Some good laughs, and a really good family message. Also dug the animations and the "weird" editing additions.

Re: Young Rock (NBC) -- Comedy based on The Rock's life -- Premieres 2/16/21

I'm pretty impressed with the actors playing him as well. The weakest is the youngest kid, but hey, kid actors often aren't great - i'd say he's above average. But the guy playing his college-age...

Re: Invincible (Amazon): animated series based on the comic by Robert Kirkman

Loved the Amber "twist" in this past episode. Mark thinks he's just going to coast and all is forgiven once he reveals his identity... um, think again.

Re: Young Rock (NBC) -- Comedy based on The Rock's life -- Premieres 2/16/21

I thought episode 7 (the action movie homage) was really well done. Had a smile on my face most of the episode.
