Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 15th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

I hit exactly 100 on my 15th Challenge; the time seemed to fly more than usual this year. So, 15 years, approaching 1700 views - small potatoes compared to some of you, I know, but as always, it's a...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 15th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

I saw The Lighthouse this afternoon and agree with all of the above. It's an amazing movie and one I'll be thinking about (and figuring out) for a while. Visually beautiful, and yes, the performances...

Re: "Us" Reviews/Discussion - 2019 Horror Challenge

It was great to revisit Us for the Challenge. I agree with others that it's a bit overstuffed with somethings that don't go anywhere, but the filmmaking and performances (particularly Lupita...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 15th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

There were only 6 I hadn't seen on the Letterboxd list, so today I watched Alone With Her (2006) and Grace (2009). I found neither one particularly "best." They were adequate but I may not be in a...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 15th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

Just a heads-up that the Original Wildcard, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, airs Tuesday night, 8 pm EST, on ABC.

Re: "The Fury" Reviews/Discussion - 2019 Horror Challenge

Ha, me too.

To be honest, I'd forgotten how slow this one was when I proposed it. It's certainly a letdown for DePalma from Carrie, but still fun and with a terrific cast of actors. Nice to see...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 15th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

Tonight I had an interesting time at the movies. The Independent theatre here in Pittsburgh is showing ten days of George Romero films, and tonight was the world premiere of The Amusement Park. ...

The original is on Tubi, and also Kanopy and Hoopla if you have access to those. I rewatched it today and may try to get to the remake later on.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 15th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

It's on Amazon Prime, if that helps. I may watch that one tonight, as well as Mulholland Drive.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 15th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

I watched this today and agree on all counts. Thanks everyone for the recommendations, and the advice to go in not knowing anything about it! One of the better first-time views I've seen this year.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 15th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

Totally agree. It's creepy and very effective. I took it on vacation one year and was happy I had the free time to power through it.

Re: 2019 Criterion Challenge Discussion Thread

Thanks for the Challenge, Travis and everyone. I met my goal and almost completed the checklist (one language short). I made a significant dent in my unwatchable pile, and finally listened to the...

Re: 2019 Criterion Challenge Discussion Thread

I'm on pace for my goal, but the stack of unwatched discs doesn't seem to be getting shorter... I do want to get to more commentaries, etc. so will concentrate on those this coming week.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 15th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/31)

In addition to a Friday the 13th movie, I went to see Tigers Are Not Afraid, which was playing at a theatre in my neighborhood. It's a really interesting film and I'm looking forward to the...

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 15: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checklist)

I've only used Tubi a few times but it's seemed very unobtrusive. The ads are during the movie but short, and only a couple breaks.

I'm always late joining this thread. Happy Challenge 15!

I'll be glad to take a Subset pick. I'll spend some time perusing the thread, but in the meantime sign me up.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 14th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

I'm probably ending at 108 with The Oblong Box, a nifty Vincent Price/Christopher Lee/EA Poe joint from 1969. Life certainly slowed me down this last weekend, but that's okay. Thanks to...
