Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

If it keeps dropping, which doesn’t seem improbable and makes it to like $20-$25 I might consider it. Even then I don’t want it that badly though.

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

Do they? Of their three major recent releases I’d disagree. The Switch is plentiful and has been pretty easy to find since shortly after launch. The SNES Classic Edition was relatively easy to...

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

I actually think some of the N64 stuff fares slightly better to be honest. Just because there’s a lot more hit games featuring more animated/cartoony characters, whereas PlayStation went for realism...

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

Yeah, there are definitely good PS1 games I’m not saying there aren’t at all. The Crash and Spyro games are great but both benefit greatly from being remastered. Same with things like Super Mario...

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

I just think nostalgia only factors in so much. A lot of the games from the era just haven’t aged well. From looking poor to awkward controls to poor camera angles. The N64 is guilty of the same...

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

I wonder if some people aren’t as nostalgic for the PS1 as Sony thought too. I mean the games just really don’t look very good mostly and playing them on an HD tv is going to really show how bad...

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

Yeah, I’m glad I didn’t really want this. It seemed like it was going to have issues from the get go with not revealing the full game list up front and weird decisions like cheaping out and not...

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

True about a digital tv bringing out more imperfections in older games. That unfortunately is inherently an issue with the early 3D consoles like PS1/2 and N64. A lot of the games from that era...

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

I still have my PS2 and while I don’t play it a bunch anymore I might grab one just to have. Seems like a pretty easy and inexpensive way to make it work with a modern tv and hopefully have it look...

If you have an original PlayStation or even a PS2 there’s this.

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

It’s dumb that they didn’t just do Dual Shock controllers too or at least one of each (one original and one Dual Shock). The only reason I can think of why they did that is if they intend to release...

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

Yeah what a weird list. So many staples like Crash, Spyro, Tomb Raider, etc. missing. I realize things like Crash and Spyro have recently been remastered in collections, but still this is supposed...

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

The 3DS is different as it’s a unique plug that goes into the actual handheld. Even if you had a DS prior to the 3DS the plug was different. I’m sure the PlayStation Classic is just a normal USB.

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

That’s true. I never understood why Nintendo did that with the 3DS. I mean if you have one it’s something you’re going to need no matter what.

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

For $100 I don’t see why they couldn’t include one. At least you can get them pretty cheap though if you don’t already have a spare one lying around.

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

Yeah, I definitely have fonder memories of the PS2. Graphics hold up a bit better on some of the games too. That early polygon 3D style really dates the PS1/N64 era.

Re: Playstation Classic -- With 20 preloaded games

I’m not as nostalgic for PlayStation (particularly PS1) as I am for classic Nintendo. Plus seems a bit pricey to me as an impulse buy type of item and as mentioned there aren’t a bunch of great...
