Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

Honestly, I think the story-line will be much better as a TPB all grouped up. Since the whole arc is just a short time and told as a single narrative, I think that you'll enjoy it once get to it.

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

Am I the only person who cheering out loud at the end of the last Walking Dead issue? I laughed my ass off. I honestly think it was the single best moment of the series so far.

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

I think once the world goes to shit, a bit more of the potty-mouth will probably come out in people. But even then, it's not everyone swearing, it's one person with a lot of lines swearing.

And...

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

Crossed is good if you stick with the Garth Ennis issues. In his issues every atrocity you've seen actually is pulled from real cases he researched (mostly in 3rd world countries) of conflicts...

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

My theory:
I'm thinking Carl's story will have something to do with Negan's harem. They spent a lot of time there for it to mean nothing.

Yeah, I've warned many people who expected a close mirror to be disappointed. It is about as similar as:

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

You guys are funny. Half saying the death was too predicable because it was one of the 3 that was foreshadowed, the other half was bored because because it was typically "shocking" as if that makes...

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

I don't think it'll ruin anything. It'd be like holding off watching the GI.Joe cartoon as to not spoil the next live action movie; the two are recognizable as being the same property... but that's...

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

Up to issue #79 I think. 1 issue a month (give or take a week).

As for a plot without giving too much detail...

Basically 7 or 8 issues with what is left of our survivors trying to adapt to a...

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

Not counting the first episode, the show and the comic maybe has about 20% crossover. At this point I don't think there can be even a comic to episode count conversion. If I had to guess...

I...

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

There are also trade paperbacks, you might be able to find those non-hardcover version on half.com or ebay for not too much money.

This is what is killing me money-wise right now.

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

The omni is really nice, but the first one is nearly impossible to find for cheep (usually about $1,000). The compendium is the best bang for the buck, but you can't loan it out cuz most people...

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

Go for the Hardcover "deluxe" books. The price is about the same as getting them as the softer trade paperbacks, but you get a much nicer presentation and paper-stock. There have no one-shots...
