I always thought Achtung was a tough listen on your average car stereo. It sounds great on a decent home setup but for the car I think compression and loudness can help (as long as they don't overdo...

Yeah but they are still talking about peaking at the most 0 dBFS. And nowhere do they mention digital dynamic range compression which as I said really started to become a problem in the late 90's....

Wrong. Achtung Baby has never been remastered up to this point. The CD as mastered in 1991 sounds very good. And it should considering it came out in the peak era of excellent sounding CD mastering....
