Fifty mint copies would largely destroy it as an investment vehicle. Prices wouldn't go down that much but its future worth would be greatly diminished.

I don't know, I've seen some pretty great-looking Golden Age books in much better condition. Though they usually come from the 40s, when the technology had matured.
