Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread

I've done around the same compared to other challenges but I didn't get the burnout. There's enough variety to be able to switch to, along with the options being shorter, compared to horror, horror,...

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread

No problems. Easy change to make.

Unless you want to pick someone yourself, I can just draw another name.

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread

What the hell, Excel.

Added in. When I drew for prizes, I didn't care if you counted or not. As long as something was watched, you were good for an entry.

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread

Added it in.

Didn't notice it when I pasted it in but I did the work in Excel, so I guess it added something in for me.

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread

1. It's described earlier in the thread. I have to take off in a bit, otherwise I'd look it up. Short answer is "Will madam and mister get married/date/kiss/divorce/adopt/etc" type things that are...

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread

I would have liked to hit 200 but I wasn't close enough the last few days and I wasn't going to kill myself to do it. I still hit 187.5 and finished a bunch of things I either started a long time ago...

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread

Other than 6 episodes of Garbage Pail Kids, I have the last episode of Seinfeld and two discs left in my Unsolved Mysteries box set to finish by tomorrow. If the stars suddenly align, I'll also start...

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread

MST3K was 2 hours with commercials, so that counts as 2. Virginian looks like the same deal.

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread

I'm not ashamed to admit that I'll be fine with switching to something else next month. Since there's not a whole lot of time left in the month, I'm picking things that only lasted a season, or so....

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread

We finished Pee-Wee's Playhouse Monday, so with only a week left, it's getting tough to pick things we'll be able to finish. Last night I picked Hey Dude which I thought had 19 episodes for the first...

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread

That works too. Doing it by time, and doing a little rounding has it come out at 3.5 entries.

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread

Doesn't matter for this challenge. You count things based on time, so each 45 minutes of show is one entry.

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread

I tried watching Firefly with my wife once and we did it based on how the episodes were originally supposed to air. Not sure if that was a mistake because neither one of us wanted to finish the first...

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread

I thought I was completely caught up on all the stuff on my Tivos and then I saw I still had season 2 of The Walking Dead on the bedroom one. At least it won't take long to get through it.

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread

I almost want to say that 150-175 would be the equivalent to 100 in other challenges.

Last night I finally caught up on all the old stuff I had sitting on my Tivo. I do have 3 shows from Sunday...

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread

I can only seem to stand 3 episodes of Pee-Wee's Playhouse before I start dozing off. It's going to be tight to finish them all by the end of the month.

Thanks for the comment :)

I finished Land of the Lost last night. Now I need to figure out what to start up with my kids tonight.

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread

I have about 15 minutes left of the Elizabeth R mini-series, 2 episodes left of Land of the Lost and then I start in on the Criterion set of The Golden Age of Television.
