Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

Part of me wonders if they saw how bad Halloween II did and figured the F13 sequel would probably suffer the same fate.

I agree with DJariya... if Nightmare does really well, I bet it's greenlit...

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

Thanks Gizmo.

I'm still going to hold off for the U.S. Blu-ray releases down the line too, for the same reason.

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

That was my plan all along... although I did break down and buy Part 1 on Blu because I figured the BD box set wouldn't be out for a while.

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

That's right, they did. I don't recall any other scenes though or anything from JGTH or FvJ. I wonder why this is.

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

I'm a little over half way through HNWJ and other than two gripes, it's pretty decent.

My gripes:

1. The hockey mask that accompanies the lower third CG for the cast/crew names names is...

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

I got my HNIJ at Target and it came with $5 movie cash.

Maybe the $10 is a Walmart thing.

Is there a number at Anchor Bay where we can call for clarification?

Signed,

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

I wonder if both versions (or all three if you include the 2-D version) will be on one disc or if you'll have to buy the 3-D version of your choice.

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

Could we assume that Part 3 is missing the commentary from the box set version because Paramount didn't want to pay the participants?

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

I think Buechler wants VII to be released uncut so badly that he'd probably pay for the restoration out of his own pocket.

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

The more I read about this situation (and the more my financial situation doesn't improve), I'll probably just end up doing the same.

And if me not buying these new releases directly causes...

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

It's a shame that Paramount owns these movies. They never did care much for this franchise, regardless of how much money it brought in for them.

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

I've never heard any fan commentary. I'm assuming the worst. Hopefully, I'll be proven wrong.

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

As much as I'll be tempted to get these, I think ultimately lack of funds will make the decision to not buy these much easier.

Maybe it's better (for my wallet anyway) that they aren't putting...

I've stated my opinion about this kind of thing numerous times over in this thread (http://forum.dvdtalk.com/hd-talk/544600-blu-ray-releases-questionable.html).

I was hoping for the original artwork, but this works. it could be A LOT worse. And at least they used the classic font, not that stupid one they used on the box and the Parts 5-8 DVDs.

Just on principle alone, I'm going to wait until these are released on Blu-ray. There is no reason that ANY new set should be released as "DVD only" these days.

Assuming I will be making the jump to BD in the near future, I will most likely wait for that release unless a DVD set is something really special which I doubt will be the case. I owned every movie...
